<div class="IPBDescription">... Any nerds remember this show?</div> For some reason, in the past couple of days, the nostalgic image of the games master keep showing up in my head. It just keeps flooding in... Gamemaster's oil rig, prisons, hell, atlantis...
Saw the shows on my local cable TV. Why was it cancelled? Is this show from the US or UK? (I have no clue, I think I got the name wrong or something, didn't show up on google.)

Ah brigns back memories, it used to be on at like 7PM in the UK, and I remember them playing a 1v1 at Duke Nukem 3D once....

The show was filmed in the UK and all the contestants were from the UK also.
I used to love this show so very much. But i think one of it's main downfalls was the 4th series which, instead of being presented by Dominik Diamond, it was presented by Dexter Fletcher, and all the subtle innuendo, sly jokes and everything that made Dominik Diamond great were replaced by... well.... Dexter Fletcher. Not only the change in presenter, but the format of the show changed from individual challenges different for each show to a series-long contest between multiple teams, it was a change for the worse. Which is why in series 5 it changed back, but it just wasn't as good again, the previous series just kinda killed GamesMaster somewhat.
The coolest thing about it, however, was that my brother was on the show once. And not only that, my house and my dad managed to get featured too. One episode they did a "Quake special", basically half the show was dedicated to Quake, my brother was a contestant (Who was robbed of his victory, i might add) and for a feature on Quake multiplayer they filmed about our house with our network setup and us playing Quake and so on, i still have a video of this episode, but no means to transfer it from VHS > digital format, so i can't post grabs and such.
As for him getting cheated. The basic idea was my brother made a map for Quake and some guy who's supposed to be awesome at Quake had to beat it. The original criteria was to beat it and find all secrets and get 100% kills. That was by no means easy, it was full of shamblers and fiends and was genuinely hard, then eventually they made my brother take out a number of the monsters, there wasn't even a single shambler in the final version, also the secrets were dropped. And not only this, when they prerecorded him playing the game (What, you think they play them live?) it took him something like 4-5 runs to actually finally beat it. My brother was robbed, ROBBED I TELLS YA!
