Star War Mod For Homeworld 2
<div class="IPBDescription">Looks nice :)</div> Well here's a screen shot, all the ships bar the hero units (falcon etc) are here and done to scale which is nice, although it's hard to make out the fighters as they are so small.
My only gripe is that it takes so long to research stuff and the cost to do it is retarded

I'm a good fan of the HomeWorld games. I need to whip out my copy of it to try this out.

Still well worth a download.
The fighters are so small tho because it's all to scale, if they made the fighters bigger the capital ships would have to be bigger.
Yes.
i highly doubt lucasarts will give a ****... its a really old mod plus all the other star wars mods for so many games... they arent total ****...
er... I feel newb...
what is homeworld?
Homeworld is a Real Time Strategy set in space. The original was an excellent, moving, and engaging space epic. I highly recommend it, even if you're not a fan of RTS games (I'm one of those, and I still liked it).

I prefer Homeworld 2 over the original. The UI is better, the story is just as good, the cutscenes and music are still brilliant, and the gameplay is much more fun. It tends to get a bit repetitive after a while, but it's a pretty good game nonetheless. I'm not a huge fan of the multiplayer, though. Huge games get really, really nasty sometimes (imagine eight max-size Vagyr fighter and corvette swarms) and can really kill performance. The pace doesn't really work that well in MP, either. It takes a long, long time to build a fleet that's really fun to deploy against another fleet in combat. I think the research and build times for advanced tech and capital ships is designed more for singleplayer, where you gradually build and keep your fleet from mission to mission.
I need to go out more.
If you're looking for a one shot deal where you crash two fleets into each other, you're probably looking for the wrong game. However, if you want a mix of tactical strategy and fast-paced strike ship combat, it owns.
What/who are these "Yuuzhan Vong"?

They're invaders (from SPACE!) in the EU (expanded universe) of Star Wars. After the rebellion have pretty much won (but while there are still remnants of the Imperium left), those aliens invade. They grow everything they use (from spaceships to handheld weapons; no technology) and for some reason are not a "part" of the force, ie, they can't use it, sense it, or even be affected by it (so a jedi can't push them, and can't sense them approaching, for example).
Tycho can probably fill in the gaps (even though I know more than him <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) but those're the basics.
*EDIT* 2000th post woo! (there ya go Caboose <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Hahahaha, that's twice you've made me laugh out loud today, V-Man. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You got your chronology mixed up there, the extended universe came first <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyway, the concept of the aggressively biological species is not new. Hell, NS uses an interpretation of it. Star Craft had another.
I thought they were pretty nice; they left the humans alone for the most part (until that one episode with them impersonating humans and then eventually negotiating with them for some reason after the captain gave the borg technology to harm them). Not to drag the topic any further off-topic, but where's some info on this extended universe?
[And when does Star Wars stop being "Long ago, in a galaxy far far away" and become "in the present day, in a galaxy far far away"?]
That first screenshot looks nice, anyway. I don't have Homeworld 2...I'm not even really sure why I entered this thread...
