Is Ns Not Compatible W/ Linux 64bit Systems?

I am getting this error every time I try to start up my system.
Couldn't get DLL API from ./ns/dlls/ns_amd64.so!
I am using FC2. CS works fine though this is giving us problems.

there is no 64 bit version of ns dedicated server for linux or windows. even if there was, the performance gain would probably be so minimal, it would be insignificant.
