<div class="IPBDescription">beta released</div> some of you may remember the alpha of Hidden:source that was released it was buggy and laggy but the game concept rocked..

well they released the beta a little while ago and they fixed alot of the bugs and lag
and they added a few maps,models,animations that overall polish the game quite a bit

    I think almost all Half-Life 2 mods have run, will run, and will try to fix this problem - happens in Garry's Mod, and occasionally, Battlefield 2 with me...

    Well, if you played it before, its pretty much the same thing. There are some new models, and the new maps add variety. I find it more stable than the original release.

    That's pretty much it. If you like the alpha, you'll probably like the beta.

    i liked the alpha and i like this version alot more only way to know for sure it to try it yourself the game is pretty unique

    What are the production values like?
    Does it have ns quality visuals, or are we talking more first gen S&I here?

    the weapon models are like CS:S models but with stone like skins on them
    the player models are alright nothing great but nothing terrible either the maps are quite well done especialy the stalkyard remake the animations are alright some times they glitch up nothing too bad tho

    Yes it did.

    UT2K3's take on it was called "Mutant"

    I'm actually about to play this, since it's not just "HL2DM with an invisible guy!" like it originally seemed to be. Is there a particular server that NS people congregate in?

    It depends, really. Sometimes I can clearly see him from across the map, others I can barely seem him when he's right in front of me.

    Anyways, aside from the obvious netcode and animation problems, it seems pretty good. The three maps that I tried (stalkyard, train...something and the one with the water) all had unique themes and methods for the hidden and the marines to interact with each other, which was nice. I'd play more, but my headphones are dieing, which puts me at a huge disadvantage. I just hope they fix the bugs by the time I get some new headphones.

    New maps is a good thing, I got bored of just stalkyard in the original.

    Are there still problems with more than one Hidden guy spawning? That got annoying.

    I think it depends on your settings or something. One of my mates literally can never spot the Hidden. Which is fun for the rest of us.
