Sg Turrets.

have turrets been made weaker in any way. I know there was a price increase but they seem to be **obscenity** at shooting now, you can pretty much run past em and not get hit. I can nearly take out a place defended by turrets with a skulk+lvl3 carapace with 1-2 healings. That seemed to be pretty much impossible in v1.

Maybe turrets were fine the way they were, it could be that the increase of health on off cham makes them more like sg turrets but cheaper.

No, you've always been able to run past them as a skulk.

You're probably just noticing the fact there are fewer turrets (as they cost ~20% more). One of my favorite things to do in v1 was to run by some commanders SG wall and kill whatever was behind it using my target as cover from the SGs. Even when somebody put 25 or so in their main, if the CC had a side that was unprotected I could usually make it there and only get tagged once or twice.

Turrets generally fire at where you were just a moment ago

So running directly at them or directly away from them or standing still will get you killed.

The more obliquely you approach them the less like you are to take damage.

Unfortunately, if there's more than one turret, (2 or more, in fact) there is always a time, even if you're circle-strafing around the one, that you're either directly approaching or retreating from the other one, which means it will shoot you every now and then... and the more turrets, the more often you will get hit. If you move across EVERY turrets fireing line, you won't ever get hit, but if you circle one turret, the others will hit you.

There are a lot fewer turrets now, so there are a lot less times when you're either retreating from or approaching a turret while circling around others.

Basically, if you have to pick a line through a turret forest, pick the one that has the least amount of you running directly towards or away from any of the turrets in there. (Often there is no such approach, like if the doorway is turreted).

This should of course be obvious.
