Need Computer Advice

<div class="IPBDescription">On buying a desktop</div> Ok, I'm looking into buying a desktop. Now, a few things: I know almost nothing about computer hardware and I certainly don't want to build it, so don't bother telling me to build it.

Alright now, at the moment I'm looking at this particular desktop.

<a href='http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16883102628#DetailSpecs' target='_blank'>ABS Ultimate M6 Pro</a>

Now, I need some opinions on the particular specs and secondly, I'm a bit confused with the price. According to newegg.com it's only 2,200, but once I check out the "Expert Reviews" they all say that the desktop costs 3,600+. Am I missing something? Are we talking about a different computer here? Help please.

    It's probably just priced well through newegg. Though building a PC isn't hard, and you shouldn't be intimidated by it...

    It is pretty nice, I think you could build the same thing for a few hundred less though.

    Differetn setups. <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->it's packed with AMD's flagship 2.6-GHz Athlon 64 FX-55 processor and 2GB of DDR400 SDRAM. The CPU, memory, and two 160MB drives configured in a RAID array, all contribute to the steep $3699 price tag. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    More ram, dual harddrives, raid, etc.

    If you build it, the polygons will come.

    Bah that system to build in the UK will come well over that price mark.

    I hate the US and their cheap prices <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Nice rig Sirus. I don't know what those reviewers are smoking but I wouldn't pay $3600 for that thing. THe $2200 price sounds reasonable. Of course, you could get it much cheaper if you did all the labor <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
