<i>"After much hard work by both Evilness and mu -- and the amazing lingual skills of the fananator -- we've compiled a sweet package of ownage to provide all your ns gaming needs (ok maybe not quite ALL). Snippet from files page:
Basically we made a pack with a wide assortment of cool custom files that enhance your game by reducing some of the unneccesary crap included in NS. Several different crosshair packs are included, such as Fana's modified 1.04 crosshairs, morphz' small crosshairs and mu's accurate shotgun crosshair. Other additions include a reduced waypoint sprite, no ambient sounds and reduced alien HUD. All included in an easy to use installer that should make sure that even the biggest of the fattest of the most horrible nubs can install this without a hitch.
So get downloading already. Grab it here or check out some more useless information on the files page."</i>

mst does iirc. Ill pm him on irc.
maybe
Also, I dont really see how that SG xhair helps, i mean is doesnt hurt, but its not like it tells you the spread unless you are shooting something right in your face. Eh.. maybe I just have to use it more to see how it works..anyways, this was extremely easy to install . It would be nice if you have a feature to restore all the deafult xhairs/sprites though.
Hmm <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I hope this bug is fixed in the next release - ambient sounds should be checked for consistency. It's like... whitewalling with detailed textures. It really is - only involving another input method: sound.
[edit]
Oh and the rest of it is very nice! I especially like the crosshair for LMG and such.
On the postivie side, since I'm too lazy to revert to my old setting, I'll have more time to study for finals.
The shotgun has a linear spread. Where it shows is exactly where the pellets will hit.
I do have a question though, Why would I not be able to connect to a game w/o first opening up ns from the my games list after using this? I installed everything but the xhairs.

Exactly.

It works fine for me and everyone else who tested it, it's only some custom sprites, sound files and a config. Can we get some more information about your problem?

Its seriously giving me a headache, and it sucks with the alien flashlight. Also, WTH you changed my name to knifefan. Thats just stupid. I should probably run adware to make sure you guys didnt install spyware or popup ads on my comp.

OK, blame Fana or Evilness for this one, they wrote the little text things next to each option. In the original readme I made it very clear that you should edit the userconfig in a basic text editor (notepad) before playing, it has all the information in there about gamma, your name, your rates and a couple of useful aliases which you can bind to a key (like to request medpacks/ammo). If you really can't fathom how to sort the settings out (change the values next to each one and save the file, if you dont want a setting to be reset every time you open NS then just delete it from the userconfig.cfg file) then just delete the "userconfig.cfg" file and the "config.cfg" files and you will be playing with a default config again which can easily be edited through the ingame menu.
All these files can be found in the half-life/ns folder in your steam directory.
Apologies for the problem but it seems pretty easy to miss, seeing as all the people who tested this have and maintain their own separate userconfigs, sometimes you assume that everyone knows about them.
now thats something i would call stupid...
i for one looked into it, that was the first thing i did after installing, and then i deleted it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Same here. The rest is very nice though <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
@2 of Eight: I think that comparing nulled ambience sounds to whitewalls is a bit harsh, it doesn't provide such a big advantage, but having the bass in my headphones NOT going all funky in triad and central access is actually pretty nice. Now it doesnt feel like my head is going to blow up while playing those maps anymore.
i guess you could see any change to the default ns install an exploit, and customising itself exploiting, but that's YOUR personal opinion. stop advertising your opinion with phrases like

please.

no, it really isnt.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Those who rely on sound more will appreciate this exploit more than those who don't<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
everyone relies on sound. the thing is- with my old headphones i hardly noticed any ambience sounds, but i bought new ones and now the noise is just deafening.
Ambient sound prevents you from hearing skulk footsteps. It's a lot better playing with no sound, since you hear better.
I don't see a difference, and fail to see how you can.
I personally like the music, it contains much coolness.

Assuming you're responding to Gunner's post, I think he was joking (well I hope he was!). Minstrel's pack contained blackwalls (and the appropriate scripts and macros to use them), a macro program, and a script to rapidly change your rates (to make you unhittable), among other things.

Yes. But the little menu pops up then GOES AWAY. So I was in PAIN listening to it. Sure its alright, but it gets annoying after awhile. I had to click setup.exe to get the music to play 3 times over eachother. Go to task manager and find which program was running 3 times.
Kthx. Too much work. I give this download a -1 just because of that ****.

The unstoppable music was a bug with the first installer. Redownload for fixage.
Also, just fyi. this has now been renamed to the TEAM HASSELHOFF NS PACK VERSON 1. <a href='http://www.knifegaming.com/index.php?id=roster/roster' target='_blank'>http://www.knifegaming.com/index.php?id=roster/roster</a>
