This has a BF:V feeling to it. Shame really, because I hated the BF:V feel compared to the BF1942. I can't really describe it, but it feels sort of like I'm in a cartoon.

It's...okay. The map is TOO DAMN SMALL FOR JETS. I feel like I'm going the speed of light...I can circle around the whole map before I realize what's happening just after take-off.
Sure takes alot of shots to drop someone. I was prone, opened in several bursts, and alot of shots hit, but it took a sniper to actually kill him.
I seem to kick **** at tank combat, though. Undefeated in tank vs tank combat.
It's like the previous sniper, you have to wait a bit for the aim to be more precise, it's not CS half-a-second shooting, you need to calm your shot down. Crouch or prone helps, of course. The problem, of course, are randomly moving targets, which happen to be a lot of people.
I'm doing that. It's kinda hard to fire like mad with a bolt-action rifle anyway. It doesn't seem to help, and the only reason I'm getting kills at all is because the bots suck even worse than my rifle. I even hit better with the other weapons.
Does the gun combat still feel like you're playing paintball? I didnt like the lag the bullets had before actually hitting the target, realistic my foot. When you have to lead a man four feet away from you five feet, somethin's up. Gun combat killed it for me.. like I said. Is it better? My friend came on blabbing about how much he disliked it, but he needs a better computer before judging it with more than 2 fps. He also hated my favorite game .. evar, so hes not to be trusted.
its called funvsrealism its not very fun for a tank come rolling up on a bunch of infantry who have no chance of survival against it, except for grenades (which do very little damage but with enough they can destroy it) And the gun combat is alot more tactical, you need to aim with ironsights long range and use burst fire, support weapons you need to prone to make any use of them. Sniper is done well even if you think its not its becuase you haven't praticed enough. If you play a 64 man server the map isn't small at all, and as for the jets being to fast...they are jets...not prop planes. If you come into the game thinking its supposed to be a military simulation with as much realism as possible then you need to uninstall it asap and go play AA or somthing. It was designed to be fun and frankly I Think it is a blast to play.

Realism CAN be fun, and in this case, it'd make more sense for realism to hold true.
Regardless though, the grenades we use today very much so will damage a tank.
They should've made tanks and infantry interact more like they do in FH for 1942 (it's a WW2 mod for BF1942. Yeah, I know, but it's actually a lot better than vanilla BF). Tanks are really strong, but the AT weapons can kill all but the most heavily armoured tanks with one or two hits to the rear. And like I said before, they also should've stayed true to BF1942 instead of going for a BF:V-type feeling. Comparing BF:V to BF1942 is for me like comparing the early Zelda video to the news of a cellshaded Zelda, and about equally disappointing.
Edit: Er, I don't think a fragmentation grenade will damage a tank much...
I noticed you can throw grenades inside humvees

ok, about snpiing, i LOVE the USMC's sniper rifle, but the druganov sucks HARD. Accuacy is not my problem, i can hit, and i do get kills with my rifle, but the druganov is seriously underpowered IMO. I remember one instance i sniped this one guy and had to hit him like 4 times to kill him and atleast 2 of those had to have been chest shots. the only way i can seem to kill with druganov is go for the head.
I wish the infantry combat was like Raven Shield. This game would own.

It suffers from the same problem with all BF games. You end up running around like a headless chicken most of the time, trying to find someone to kill. If you're still wondering how to command, use capslock to apply for the position, pageup to accept the position (if you get it - you'll always be able to comm if you want to in SP, but in MP there's a vote system), and then capslock again to open the command interface once you're the boss. I haven't quite figured out how to issue orders to squads, but just using the commander abilities is a lot of fun.
I can't wait to play it on a LAN with my buddies. If you have about five players that really know what they're doing, plus a good commander and decent air support, the game is amazing. Most of the rounds I played were of the "headless chicken" variety, although a few that I played rivaled NS in the degree of teamwork and awesome involved. The VoIP doesn't really seem to work right now (at least I can't transmit or hear anyone), and if they do get it working in retail it'll go a long way towards making the game more interesting.

It runs perfectly smoothly with reasonable graphics given the huge amount of players online, no lag, no smacktards (except one and he was kicked promptly) and best of all I OWN AT THIS.
I have also finally mastered the skill of landing a chopper... much harder than it sounds. It was a lot of trial-and-error, made harder by the fact that you can't practice single player.

This game is absolutely brilliant. Graphically, it is stunning (especially the rag dolls and shadows). I have a very medium PC (Radeon 9600XT, etc), but bf2 runs PERFECTLY smooth at medium/high settings on 1024X768. There seem to be a few problems, but by and large this is the best game of the year:
Infantry Combat - 10/10 This is where the game really excels, i think. Unlike in bf1942, you can really feel it when you shoot someone. The ragdolls add so much to that - It no longer feels fake and paintballish. People can take a fair amount of hits before dying, but they still die quick enough if you can aim. Some of the weapons (The Support MG, mainly) seem a little underpowered, but in the main all weapons are great.
Vehicles - 9/10 The ground based vehicles are all great, especially the tanks (I fricking love the T-90). You really get a feel for the weight of the vehicle as you use it. Jeeps bounce and jitter around on rough terrain, while you can feel your tank gain momentum as you drive forward. The helicopters are also brilliant, but pretty damned hard to use. At the moment they feel a bit underpowered, but i have seen a few instances where an attack chopper has attacked a group of tanks at a decent angle with its missiles, and absolutely decimated them. Once people get better at flying/hovering, the helicopters are really going to be a deciding force on the battlefield. I can't really comment on the transport boats, because they play such a small part in the game. However, strafing one in a helicopter/plane is really fun.
My only gripe with the vehicles is the jets, really. Once you get used to them, they are really, really fun to play with. However, as far as i have seen, the jets are only useful for shooting down other jets. They are pretty good at shooting helicopters, but rarely get to kill one because they can take two missiles before dying, and have very decent flares to use. The speed of the jets means that you only get a pass or two, so you will be unlikely to land two hits on the helicopter. The bombs seem pretty useless for me, but i remember reading something about being able to 'paint' a target for a plane to attack. There has got to be some special key to attacking ground units in a plane, but i havn't found it yet.
Effects and sound - 10/10 This is where the game really soars. This game easily beats out COD in its use of sounds, which is saying something. The first time a tank shot at me, i nearly **** myself. Pretty much everything gives off a sound of cinematic quality, from the whoosh of a jet flying past your head to the sound of your tank turret turning. Likewise with the other effects, they are brilliant.
edit: I forgot to comment on just how brilliant the commander/squad system is. The commander really adds an entire different dimention to the game. Calling in artillery at the right point can win a game, as can a raid on the enemies guns or other special buildings. The squad system is simple and works well, making cooperation a hell of a lot easier than before. Buy this game.
