<div class="IPBDescription">the hot keys won't go away....</div> I've tried changing the commander hotkeys

I've tried deleting them completely

but no matter what happens, the build hotkeys won't go away or change.

This is bad because It messes with my control setup.

I haven't commed since version 2.0 and I was pretty good, but now I can't seem to get the hotkeys to change.

This is bad because I always bind Q to my voice chat function which is VITAL for being a com.....

help.

Precisely. It still binds the old ones when I change or delete the commander controls.

    I think it's like cl_hotkeys or something.

    cl_cmhotkeys "qwerasdfzxcv"

is the default. change it in your config.

If you dont change it in ur config it will change back everytiem you restart the game. So change wat u want in config using notepad then save it as all files so it dowsnt turn into a txt and then make it read only so it wont change on you again.

Oooh you think that's bad... I used to have V bound to voice. That meant that I'd accidentally recycle the adv. armory quite a bit....

Note that there is also a MENU option to change commander hotkeys, and then you don't have to mess with changing your config files--any change you make in the menus will be saved when you exit NS (so long as it doesn't crash before you exit manually).

I have my com hotkeys all moved over a space to allow me to use "Q" as voicecom. It works fine for me...

    I use tab.
It's irritating when you use arrow keys for movement though - trying to move your hand across your keyboard faster than that skulk can bhop at you.

The worst thing about using alt.. when you look to see who your gorge is while speaking and accidently alt-tab out of the game <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I use alt for in-game (alt-tabbing doesn't matter as much), and V for ventrilo. When comming, I only do it on pubs, so alt works fine <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ctrl for in game voice and alt for vent... I alt tab alot, and if you alt tab in game it holds down voice the whole time you are gone mic feeding. Doesn't happen in vent.
