These Forums Are On The Internet...

a tale of my stupidity
Around two hours ago the internet at my house went down (stupid summer storms), and unable to game, I went and got some food. When I returned, I assumed the internet was still out, and looked for something to do in the meantime. I went to the forums and started reading, passing time until the internet came back. I read random stuff on the forums here for nearly 2 hours, wanting the internet to come back so I could play ns. Only after this time did I realize how stupid I was, and that it must have came back sometime while I was eating.

I can't count the number of times I've gone to google looking for information on something when I knew full well that the internet was down.
I usually didn't make it all the way to hitting enter, but I usually started typing into the box before it hit me.

EDIT: In other words, it's your connection to the Internet, not the entire Internet that is "down".
And I hate the following sentence.
"I sense a great disturbance in the force"

I have that argument with my parents all the time. In the end though, it's just being nitpicky really.
Yes, I know. I'm a big nitpicker, though. I have several movie nitpick sites in my bookmark list. I have four books of nitpicks in movies. I'm irked when people confused "magazine" and "clip" (I blame the DOOM series for this continued confusion). I nitpick, and nitpick frequently.
That's why I have so many "Edited by" notices in my posts; I go back and edit many. Which is why I hate that "Edited by" notice so much. Make it time / new post based, so that immediate edits aren't noticed!
EDIT: Oh, and I too have several family members who walk into the room and declare "The Internet is down!". It gets old.
Bah, because I edited, I now have the dreaded following sentence, which I hate:

You think that's bad, my mom and dad used to say "Your Internet" to my brother and me.
I was like to hell with that, I am not and will never allow myself to be considered responsible for this mess.

Besides, this falls under the category of language overloading, which is fine in this instance because it's almost impossible for the literal meaning to be the intended one.

I kinda go crazy without the internet. I do weird things like leave my room, talk to people I don't know that well, go out for drinks, actually do my homework (until I realize that I can't submit my projects on the web) . . . all kinds of things that are very uncharacteristic for me. This is a rare occurance, so I still spend the majority of my life in digital solitude.
And thank God for that.
No it isn't, you nincompoop. It's still magazine in the UK.
And iirc, the magazine is the feeding mechanism that shifts bullets into the chamber. The only time you have a clip really is when you have a bundle of bullets helt together by, well, a clip (such as with a M1 Garand)... hmm, a picture would help:
<--- this is a clip
Actually, I just stumbled across a great link while looking for pictures to illustrate this, which has a better explanation than I'd be able to write: http://www.thegunzone.com/clips-mags.html
