<div class="IPBDescription">Hera!</div> Hello, my name is Serg. I'm here today to teach you about Hera Rushing. While I might not be the best at it, it does cause quite a dismay along the ranks of the aliens. I'm going to show you 3 different ways to rush in Hera. All depending on what hive you want to rush. I've only done one of these effectively. So I'm not a professional or anything at it.

<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:red'><b>Red Data Core Delta</b></span></span>

Okay to start out, if your lucky you will be closest to Red 1 (Wall Door). First when you go through Red 1 (Door), you should turn sharply left (Not displayed on path) and then right. Running into the wall part of the door and crates slows you down a lot. Red 2 (Ledge) is a small crouch space, I don't personally recommend going the stair way because it takes too long. If you time it just right, you can easily slip through the ledge in one swift movement. (Takes a while to learn though.) Usually right in the middle of the metal platform you will just smoothly go. Down there you have two options. Team help or Rambo with speed! If you Team Help, you can press the button that opens the canister to a res node, making it alot easier on the teamates. You can also skip that step for speed and go straight to Red 3 (Elevator/Lift). Even though I highly recommend doing the team help 'cause it doesn't take that long. One up, you should take a right turn, leading you to a door. Red 4 (Closed Door) is a pain because, even though it opens before you reach it, it doesn't open all the way and leaves a stub on both sides to get caught on. Watch out for it. Now your on a Red 5 (Cat-Walk), looking down at hopefully bunches and bunches of skulks. (Well, let's also hope that these skulks are stupid.) Many a time have I walk across that cat-walk and was never notice by the skulks down there. The red square is trying to show where the baddies are. Now walking along take the first right and walk down that hall. If your really lucky Red 6 (Nummy Egg) will be gestating for you. I've noticed that you can't kill an egg with a full clip, so you should unload into it and knife it a few times. Don't skip 6 if it's there. Now, the window glass should be broken and go out the window. Go down and make your way to Red 7 (Long Hall Way). This place is important because there are usually skulks running around here (even that egg that you just killed.) But if there arn't any, you picked the wrong hive (but you should still continue.) At the end of Red 7, take a sharp left turn and meet a res node. Take out your knife and start requesting ammo from your comm. If he notices your already at thier base knifing Red 8 (Enemy Res Node) he should (hopefully) comply. Make sure you have your pistol or your LMG on quick switch so when ever you hear that respawning noise, you can kill it. I never really counted how long an alien takes to spawn, or how ever long it takes to knife a RT, but you should expect 4-6 respawns. Now once you have the resource tower down, I recommend going straight for the Red 9 (Hive), if you have voice communication, ask for lots of back up. This is where hives close to the ground are good, (sadly this one isn't). Now you will need lots and lots of ammo. Spam "Need Ammo" and fire short bursts, by now you should know how long it takes for an alien to respawn. (I usually die when I'm out of ammo, so make sure you get lots of ammo.) Then if back up comes, your home free and the game is won. Unless you guys mess up and get eaten by a stragler, but you still messed up thier main RT (Which needs to be re-made, thier resources, because they never respawn the even recive them, and you injured thier hive, so it keeps them in base for a while.) EDIT (Well not edit, because I just now found this out): You CAN knife this hive. So just keep getting ammo to kill the baddies while you knife it. Keep an ear out for any spawning noises too.

<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'><b><span style='color:green'>Green Ventilation 3-C</span></b></span>

This is first of the two ways I don't go, (actually, not once). But after analyzing it, it would work in 'theory'. Once you spawn you want to take a sharp to that door that lifts up. (I didn't mark it.) Now onto the elevator, theres a button on the wall straight, (if you follow the hall). Okay, now your down into this Green 1 (Dark Corridor), and since you don't have a welder, you can't make it bright plus this is a guide for speed. Okay so you used your flashlight or you can see your way through, now past the flaming generator in the middle, Green 2 (Nummy Egg), not sure if there will ever be one, but check for an egg and kill it. Now follow your way underneath the bridge and follow the sewers to thier base. Now kill any gorges (important), eggs (2nd important), and skulks you see. Green 3 (Enemy Base), I would say just start working on the RT, keeping an eye out for any enemys that run to thier base. Also kill the ones that spawn. This hive you can knife, so do that, but still request ammo and back up. If you get enough people in there, or you can hold off 1 skulk every 4-5 seconds, you got it made.

<span style='color:blue'><span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'><b>Blue Archiving</b></span></span>

Yet another one that I have never done, but by the textbook rules, it should work. When you start out you should turn sharply left, and make your way through the winding tunnels to Blue 1 (Possible Nummy Egg), this one I'm not too sure on. You kill it if you see it in plain veiw, don't look around for it, just keep going. Don't go left or else you'll find a super short shortcut, but it needs to be welded and unless you have a welder, you shouldn't go that way. Making your way to Blue 2 (Possible Nummy Egg), not sure if this is too far away for that lonely skulk to make the run then egg. Just look around really fast then make your way down, on my map it shows go right, but if you go left you don't have to jump over the rail down into the bottom. Once down there you'll need to go up some stairs (if you follow the path correctly) then need to crawl through a small space. Blue 3 (Enemy Base) Go for the RT, it's a little harder to attack and defend. Once you kill it there is a little corner that sticks out that you can barely reach the hive, but thats where you should start attacking. Knife it and switch when the angry skulkies AND PWN THEM. Yeah, so now you killed it, joy, game over.

But what if you rush, and there isn't a hive there? Well, some people would say "Pillage the next one then! (Foam foam.)" But, I would say sit there and wait for a turrent factory because you already caused alot of pain to your commander rushing ahead of the rest of the teamates, so just type or use voice comm to say "I need this hive locked down."

A few things that I don't like when I am rushing: Early game lorks (he he I said lork), being spotted by the enemy.

But I like, when rushing, long walks on a sunsetting beach and the rain. But lots of angry skulks is a good sign that the hive you chose is a good hive.

Disclaimer: Admins (both teams) won't like you very much because lots of them are like dictatorships and want to do what ever they want you to do. And on the Aliens team, people might start f4ing, don't mind them, they = t3h nubs. And this often works really well in holding them back from expanding for a while, and this isn't the best way to rush, I havn't even seen others, so I can't compare, and I know that there is a better way to rush.

Tell me if you didn't like or any critism, after all, this is my 2nd post on the forums. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

a detailed plan always fails when first encounter.

    n1 anyway.

This would work fine if it was for a clan and you had time to discuss your warplan, however, sending a small ninja group anyway they can get there, dropping them a PG and hoping for the best is still the best way to rush a hive in pubs.

People on public servers don't typically listen to directions :x

    Good one though.

Wow, Lofung, you can misquote Murphy's combat laws.

    Still true, though.

My problem is that these strats have not been sufficiently field tested by the author. Obviously, if someone's goal is to get to a specific hive on a specific map ASAP after the game begins then he he probably already knows how to get there.

Serg, I can tell that you put a lot of effort into this post with pictures and such, but I would suggest that you post advice on this board only after you have tested it yourself (10 times or so) and then deem it worthy.

Usually my only intent as a rambo is to identify the starting hive, secure nodes, and get on the scoreboard.

That said, I've 'rushed' ventilation hive many times on this map. Whether the elevator is up or down you can walk off the ledge and if you hit the far wall just right you wont take damage falling. Run into maint, build the node if the com drops it. If an alien node is there you can knife, but you will likely die before the node goes down. Run into the hive, build the node and then head to upper processing or maybe holo room.

I really dont see the point of rushing hives as a rambo, you will die fairly quickly if you end up in the alien hive. But if you made to to an empty hive you can kill a gorge/rt if its there.

    Nice try, but I don't see a purpose in showing how to get to the 3 hives <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Just take the shortest route you can find... applies to every map. And camp a long hallway or something, so you can take skulks out easier <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You are aware that the latter half of your post essentially sums up the "purpose" of explaining these three routes?

They may seem obvious to you, but really, you can get to the hives from anywhere on the map (granted you invariably must pass through a select few areas).

These are probably the three most direct (and fairly obvious) routes to a hive.

In the first one was supposed to be the detail on how to get to the hives the fastest, and safest. I was just putting the information out there for anyone that would find it useful, I'm sorry if it didn't appeal to many of you, but I am thankful for you comments. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I'll try to work on something more usefull next time I post, untill then,

    -Serg

Edit: I've tested out Red more then ten times and 4/5 times it turns out like I explained, skulks don't see you, eggs, everything. But I didn't want my post to seem bland so I added the extra two ways just so you know if you have a feeling about a hive, thats the way to go, and what to expect.
