<div class="IPBDescription">got an offline lan coming up...</div> Gonna be lanning with friends soon. Some of which have legit boxed half life copies and no net access. We're lanning in a place with no net access. We want to play ns3.
I'll be running the servers, I got the faq and the files DL'ed. Did some reading and it all comes back to steam. Which is a showstopper.
Is there no way I can do this?

The current version of steam DLs patches off of the highest patched user for lans...
Just DL a version of steam with HL included, and dump that thing on a disk with the latest NS dist. Friends install, download steam patches off your comp, play the game. Not that difficult.
What I said was "We want to play ns3." Been lanning: ns3 beta5, ns2 before that, gloom before that. And besides, theres nothing complex about ns. Unless maybe you're a simpleton. Its not quantitive analysis of thermonuclearly enhanced caffiene extract.

This looks like the best shot. I'll check into it. Thanks.
