Btw, it often helps to try a different Gamesurge server, so hit this clicky

Netsplits Continued... - 05/27/2005 - Posted by andrew
Again, our sincere apologies for the continuing netsplits. We are again under attack by people who are trying their level best to extort whatever they can out of the network. We are working hard to try to bring this to an immediate end. Thank you for your continued patience.
Netsplits a Plenty - 05/25/2005 - Posted by Cradly
We apologize for today's frequent netsplits. All of GameSurge's servers have been the target of an ongoing coordinated DDoS attack. We appreciate your patience as we work on filtering the attack and stabilizing the network.
Sprint (Florida) Blocked - 05/11/2005 - Posted by GameSurge
Due to problems with a recurring trouble maker and no response from Sprint's abuse department, so far, which we have attempted to contact for the past three weeks, we have been forced to block this range from our our network. The only way to get this unblocked is to contact sprint customer service and ask them to deal with our abuse filing against the user concerned.
We regret this action has been necessary and look forward to getting it resolved as soon as possible.
Update (5/13): Sprint unbanned. I'd like to stress that after making our initial contact with Sprint that they have been responsive to us. They are being proactive and responsive to the complaint in the past day and received several customer complaints by those affected by the ban. We appreciate their assistance in this matter.
Update (5/19): Sprint has resolved the issue, due to repeated user non-compliance. Thanks!
I've discovered how much it sucks not to have IRC.
not working
and quakenet is ftl with all those spambots >_>
(If it doesn't work, blame grepdashv, as he found it.)

GG on not reading the topic or thread.

I read the thread and every single post. Most of those panicking are suffering from IRC withdrawl as opposed to a great need to idle on #naturalselection.
No one's panicking here... someone suggested a different server, someone jokingly said not to include the Brit with the Americans.. no one said anything about NS going "down the tubes"...

To make such a radical suggestion though, infers it. Just .... be ... patient.
I guess you just define "panicking" differently than I do.

Think about the trouble it would be to change servers, and all the resulting problems that would follow. Better yet, think about having to use Quakenet. It's simply not an option at this point.
When will you learn this.
Suggesting a change in venue hardly implies anyone thinks something is "going down the tubes", in fact change can be good and even help the popularity of something.
Once again, I don't view it as "panicking" and even less so as an indication that anyone thinks NS is "going down the tubes".
A server change would not be hard at all, you would just need to put the new network in the old channels topic. Finding an appropriate server is the hard part.

PANIC ATTACK!!!
Oh nose, I can't connect to #naturalselection, my life isn't worth living. Just suck it up, things will be back to normal soon.

You don't use IRC or gamesurge, do you? If you did, you would obviously know that GameSurge has been unstable like this for years, when it was still GamesNET.
