Listen Server Ping Skyrockets

<div class="IPBDescription">very strange</div> Sometimes I run a listen server just to play a small game or mess around with friends but recently, I have been getting huge lag spikes when starting the game.
Ex when we join the a team, one guys ping continually increases until it has a "reliable channel overflow". However, when in the readyroom, there is no problem.
My friend also runs a teamspeak server on his computer that we are cpnnected to and there is no lag between that whatsoever. Also, if he hosts an NS server amd I join, there is no lag spikes.
Both of us are very close location wise and on the same cable (as in cable internet) and pings should be around the 20s and 30s, which they start out as.
