What will be done first?
I have thought a little bit about what features in source that should be incorporated first in the upcoming NS:S port. Maybe more precisely what should not be incorporated, but more to that later.

NS:S v1.0 Straight port. Same textures, same models, same sounds. Look at HL:S, thats how "untainted" the first port of NS:S shouls be in my mind. THere should be absolutely no physics in this release. No physics objects and no physics ragdolls.

NS:S v1.1 Mostly bugfixes and unforseen balance fixes where some aspect of the game has changed on the new engine. Maybe cloaking is working differently on Source and Sensory needs buffing. The biggest change in this version is that all textures have been updated to the best that Source can muster. Nice bumpmapping and everything. OMG I can see it now =] Still no physics though.

NS:S v1.2 This is the famous Model update version where all the models and animations have been updated to source. OMG things are really looking pretty now. Before this version there where 3 minor bug fix versions that fixed some aspects of the Commander mode that was broken since the release on Source. This version also sports a new Commander HUD. No physics yet.

NS:S v1.3 This is the version where a new ns map is released that utlizes VGUI 2. Marins start has big screens on one wall that projects images in random from turrets that are placed around the map. The phase gates are also updated with a small screen at the base where an image of whats on the other side of the phase gate is seen. No physics yet.

NS:S v1.4 Some alien model bug fixes, but the main addition in this release is ragdoll physics upon death. Maps are updated to include small physics objects that can be shot at, they do not affect gameplay.

Thats my vision of the source port! What do you guys think? I do not think that physics will be implemented much. Ragdoll upon death with player clipping and small objects are absolutely the only thing that should be added in my mind. I hope that open outdoor areas are not incorporated as that changes the game to something that it is not ... maybe for NS 2 but not for NS:S.
I have high hopes for the updated textures, player models as well as smart implementations of VGUI2.
I also dont see a flamethrower in NS:S.

I'm assuming it will take just a little bit more effort to create entire new textures/models that are higher quality, although I don't know much about Source mods...
PHYSICS!
v1.0 will probably be changed to v4.0, v1.1 will probably change to v12.0, v1.2 will probably be changed to v1337.0...
i cant help...

I like the idea of supêr atmospheric maps and I've descibed my vision in lengthy posts at least twice in the last 6 months so I'm afraid 3rd time round you'll have to search for em if you care what I think :/
