<div class="IPBDescription">This seems like a really great idea</div> <a href='http://www.bookcrossing.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.bookcrossing.com/</a>
Ever had a book that you just wanted to share with everyone, but couldn't think of how exactly to do it?
Quoted from the linked site.<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->The "3 Rs" of BookCrossing...
1. Read a good book (you already know how to do that)
2. Register it here (along with your journal comments), get a unique BCID (BookCrossing ID number), and label the book
3. Release it for someone else to read (give it to a friend, leave it on a park bench, donate it to charity, "forget" it in a coffee shop, etc.), and get notified by email each time someone comes here and records journal entries for that book. And if you make Release Notes on the book, others can Go Hunting for it and try to find it!

I've got one book that I buy every time I run across it in a used book store just to loan to one of my friends. As soon as some of those copies start coming back, I think I'm going to release them. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyone else think this seems like a really great idea?

Oh and on a side note, Mantrid, I'm up for helping you make steak out of Aliencow, if you need.
And then there were two.
Your days are numbered, AlienCow.

They have bookplates on the site that you can print out for exactly that purpose. That's what the whole bcid things is for. You can also buy them if you are too lazy to print them out. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
So? Their taxes pay for it. They should go there and learn how to use it.
So anyway I really do like the idea, I just don't think it'd work too well...you'd be lucky to find someone who could be bothered to go through with it surely? Be nice to see the same book going all round the country though!

The real issue is if people are willing to lose the money they paid for the book.
