Ns Laggs Since Server Plugin Changed Settings

I dont exactly know what that damn server plug in did but since it changed some stuff i cant play ns on any server without lagging like hell while spotting enemys/friends except the one with the plug in

my ping goes up to >1000 in combat and its not playable
what can i do? :>

Check your rates and see if they have changed. I think you need to look for rate, cl_cmdrate, cl_updatrate, and maybe cl_rate. All should be either in userconfig.cfg or config.cfg

have you tried playing on different servers? Because if rates aren't changed then its a server problem, possibly a conflicting plugin resulting in errors or the like.

i tried 6 different servers
the only one working is the one with that **** plug in

How do you know it's a plugin? You could just live close to that server only, where do you live?

It dont know what plug in it was..
But i recieved messages of invalid rates that were changed by the server plugin to whatever..:>

Server is limiting rate speeds to try and enforce a more even game.

Find a different server...

We need to know what connection you have really, here are some rough guides.

56k

Rate: 3500 (Roughly)
cl_updaterate: 20
cl_cmdrate: 30
cl_rate: 9999

1meg:

Rate 25000 (Roughly)
cl_updaterate: 20
cl_cmdrate: 30
cl_rate: 9999

Custom recommended by many on the forum if your connection can take it:

Rate 25000
cl_updaterate: 101
cl_cmdrate: 101
cl_rate 9999

Failing that go to the steam menu select options and just set your internet connection in their again.

Also deleting your config.cfg (the one with all the keyboard binds/net settings) will force steam to create another one with default settings when you load up NS again.
