Job Well Done
I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for all the hard work Flayra and his "crew" have done to give me and many other fans hours upon hours of fun, teamwork (for both constructive and destructive purposes), and, yes, learning. I just left a server, and the last thing I saw were marines heading toward a waypoints, just like the commander ordered, to build a resources node, and they did not complain! This game, more than any other I have played, gives the best cooperative problem solving experience of any other online game I have played. The best part is that people enjoy working together, whether to build something or destroy the enemy. This is what the future of gaming looks like folks, it doesn't take hours of practice in a professional team to work together, but people can just log on and work together.
At the risk of sounding like a nerd , this teamplay could push gaming into the larger world of competition. Whether I'm yelling at a wandering soldier from a omniscient view or firing off round after round into an onos' hulking muscles and calling for back up, it feels like I'm with a team just like when I play soccer, basketball, hockey, or football.
I've been playing since its early stages (only game I've ever played longer was Counter-Strike), and it shows so much promise I can't wait to see what else will come out of this idea (Empires, Caliber cross my fingers).
Anyways, one final salute to the makers, fans, and gamers who have sustained this mod, and one hopes it will continue to push on (NS2!).

Secondly: This brings up an interesting point. I wonder what the next generation UWE game (NS2 as opposed to NS:S) will be like as far as team sizes. If it's outdoor environment, you'd imagine large team sizes and so I'd guess a squad system with Commanders and subcommanders would be needed to keep the level of cooperation and cohesion that you mentioned.
P.S. When is NS birthday? Do we celebrate first Alpha or first public Beta?
First public beta
The day i will able also to play it on Mac i will buy a present for you :-)
when ns:source and then NS:retail appear? all it will take is a steam integration to turn this into one of the most played and most satisfying games EVAH!
[insane]and then you say sell out to EA for $OMGZWTH!!!!
we'll forgive you as ong as you reform under a different name and release the essentialy the same game but change the apperance, make it... like... erm... mall security guards vs radioactive rabbits, and they both have to fortify the ATMs rather than the res nodes.
NS is the game that I play the most out of my entire collection, and trust me I have way too many computer games. Keep up the good work NS team!
Can't wait for 3.1 let alone NS Source.
Thanks for all the volunteer work all of you put in to make thousands of people that you don't even know happy.

Heh, I'm **** my pants I'm so anxious.
Natural Selection isn't just a game, it's like the Half-Life of all FPS/RTS games. Half-Life defined most FPS standards, as NS did for FPSRTS!
Now I'm just a marine chewing lead pumping beserk killing machine without tactics, and I bloody love it
Thing is though, I do wish they'd stop mucking around with the maps. Some previously rock-on maps have now been changed so much they're no fun. I liked relocating to the green tunnel behind Refinery in Bast, and sieging FW hive from above the tram tunnel. That rocked.
Thank you.
GREAT work devs!
much <3 from me too
less than three.

PS: EL OH WELL OH 'ELLO EL.
I find it wholly ironic that a mod made using almost no money whatsoever could slaughter several million-dollar costing games so completely in terms of art, gameplay, controls, depth, and replayability. Its incredible what it pulls off, and its easily the best game mankind has ever had the pleasure of playing.
Sometimes I honestly wonder if sex can be better than NS. Thanks Flay.
YAY FOR NS!!!!
