Such As FilePlanet/GameSpot/etc
I'm considering getting a Subscriber/Premium account for something like FilePlanet or FileShack or GameSpot, but i'm not really sure which to go for.
My FilePlanet Founders Club 1 Year thing recently expired and it's severly missed but before going for the same option again I decided to ask you guys which services you use and what you think of them.
Feel free to point out pro's and con's of each service to assist (freebies such as the free copy of Raven Shield I got with my Founders Club service as always great) your points.
Thanks.

Indeed.
And doing the Founder's Club thing is worth it too- $80 for a year isn't half bad when you get previews with no ads that are actually decent, as compared to Gamespot's horrid idealism(and bias towards console games).
GameSpot: Average reviews, good amount of files, really great exclusive dev interviews and videos.
IGN: The only one I've not been a member of, though they do seem to know things before anyone else (esp. GameSpot).
Yeah.
Personally, I'd go for the one that gives you the most free betas or games. You can get basically every single demo or movie for free from somewhere else.
It's an effort thing. Doing all the work arounds to get super fast speeds for stuff requires some work. Depends on what you are getting though.

Most of the popular files have torrents, which will give you similiar speeds to what Fileplanet has.
have to agree, torents are really always that fast

Thus the work part, where you get the good torrents, or god forbid, go onto IRC and get a bot transfer. Or if you really work for it, go for the newsgroup downloads. That can be hella fast.
I get closed beta privledged from my sisters boyfriend who is the senior engineer at monolith. wooh. (FEAR is pwn. Nuff said.)
If that's your deal, you might as well look into Streamload, I consider it possibly one of the best file storage and sharing systems created. I haven't used it much, but man, when I am really looking for something, there's always a node out there with at least one guy who has it and has either uploaded it or is willing to. It's great.
WHY DO YOU TAUNT ME SO?!
Tell him I am sooo buying that game.
So you got these some-what free games... Of course, if you only get hitpoints each month for your subscription, then the amount of hitpoints needed equals to about the game's retail price.... but im not sure if there are extra ways to get hitpoints as a founder.
