    Appleseed is the greatest animation movie to date, forget stinking hollywood wanna be animators. Watch the trailer for the first one and maybe that you call sarcasm can be changed into something else.

    Eh, directing an anime..its more about how much the voice actors does a good job. And Japan is usually good at that, and in my opinion it always/usually end up good on the voice acting side. Production wise, in my opinion, the sequel will look and feel better visually cause Woo has the supervision. Btw, the sequel also has the same director as #1.

    The old new Appleseed movie (what's the proper term for that?! D:!) was pretty awesome. I love the first 5 minutes or so, especially when the main character takes on those 5 cyborgs. Shotgun to the gut! Perhaps this will be as good.

    I would've watched the Appleseed movie if they'd drawn the characters because to honest the characters looked absolutely TERRIBLE. 3d anime characters do not work at all. Either that or if they'd done what the Final Fantasy movie did and just modeled realistic looking people.

    i don't know what you guys are smoking but the aseed 2004 movie wins almost everything winnable

    i guess it's one of those love it or hate it movies with me being among the former while the majority of the intarweb joins the latter.

    either way, i'm waiting for aseed2

    And... an Appleseed TV series?

    I'm a lot more interested in the TV series - I'm kind of hoping it'll be what Shirow originally planned for the manga, which was to flip back and forth between stories specifically about Deunan and Briareos (which they managed to alter decently enough for the first movie, I guess) and stories about the police force in Olympus.

    I liked the first movie well enough, though there are a few things I wish they hadn't done - they managed to BS up a decent overall story, but somehow it still felt empty, especially with how they handled Deu and Bri's relationship. :X
