Map Configs Not Loading

I'm having this problem, have map configs been disabled in NS? I put my "mapname.cfg" files with specific cvars that I want to load for each map in my "ns" directory, and they never seem to load. I even went so far as to comment out the "mapchangecfgfile server.cfg" cvar and put "exec server.cfg" in a config file for every map (which should do the same thing) but the map configs still don't appear to be loading. Am I doing something wrong?

map configs arent a part of hlds.
You havent stated if you are using amxmodx or adminmod? btu afaik these are the only programs that support it.

if you are using amxmodx the .cfgs need to be in /configs/maps folder iirc

Are you sure? Every other mod I've tried this with they work. But come to think of it, maybe I've only ever tried it with DOD.

And, yes, for NS I am using AMXX.
