Cannot Connect To Servers

<div class="IPBDescription">well, I get in, but...</div> The second I get in, the game locks up, and I cannot join the server again. It's like the server falls off the face of the earth, but that can't be it. Help?

Oh, btw- sometimes I don't get in, and it says "connection to server timed out." Could I have some help? Please?

    Well, I don't know which forum it should go on then. It isn't an NS bug, so that can't be right. None of them seem to fit general errors. Anyway, yes, I have a D Link router. That router is known to cause problems, but I'm only refreshing 7 servers (off the friends list.) and I disable my firewall to play NS.

    theres a tech support forum. im willing to bet you have ports that need to be opened or a firewall/router problem.


    can you play halflife regularly online?


    also a question for someone else, does ns and other hl mods use the same ports?

    Does it only happen with Natural Selection, or other Steam-based games too?

    Default HL port is 27015. HLTV is 27020.
