So... How Was Your Day?

I'm sure something interesting happened
I dont know, I've just kind of wondered how people spend their days, if even a somewhat interesting portion of it.
Mine? I almost missed my bus. I was walking out of the school as usual and talking to friends (as usual). Their busses are on the opposite end of the "lineup" of our busses, about two football fields apart we are. Anyways, he gets on his, I round the corner to go get on mine as the busses start. Usually, (I say usually) the front busses start before the back busses, prematurely I guess you could say (mine is a back bus). So, I'm kind of.. brisk walking towards my bus, and I see the doors close. Alright, usually (usually), a lot of the busses close their doors before my bus does. That wasnt the case today.
The busses started rolling, and I try to run, but my shoes almost come off. They're too small at the moment.. they're old, my other shoes are "broken." So naturally, I have them untied, so I have some room. I'm not about to rip my shoes off to run either, however my parents would be mad **** if I missed the bus (and now that I look at it, they arent even home at the moment.. dont rob me), buuuuut I still dont take them off.
Between you and me, I'm a nerd. I've played this "cool" situation out plenty a time in my head before, where the one kid misses the bus and runs off after it. I always saw myself running down the side of the road kind of telling my bus driver to open the doors and let me on. So I did.
And I ran. Down the road. Next to my bus. And after plenty, plenty, plenty of "no, you're not getting on this god damn bus," she finally opens the door and I hop on as she starts to move again.
I guess its pretty good that my bus driver is friggen awesome.
... so what about you?

The owner's lived about 500 yards from where the lightning hit.
They made the ultimate mistake of leaving their modem connected to their phone line (not that it made much difference...)
Modem got surged several times, and actually melted the PCI slot!
Now I've seen burned PCI slots, and blown PCI slots, but never MELTED ones. We couldn't remove the modem from the slot, which I have no idea why I wanted to do that.
It also turned out that everything connected to the phone line had been blown as well.
The best bit?
The modem was connected via a UPS, because the couple run a business from that system, and have had problems with power in the past. So they hooked up to the UPS (which they believed was unstoppable), and expected a 50 quid UPS to stop a 20 million volt volley just half a mile away? Needless to say, they phoned the UPS company, who told them to p*ss off, as the surge was too close for the UPS to lower.
But you've got to laugh.
White PCI-mess, and burned modem...
Anyone else got one to beat that?

Missing busses sucks, though letting them know you've missed it is never a bad idea. Nice to see you caught yours, but HOW many chances did the driver get to pick u up beforehand?
All in one day.
I went down to get info about a telecourse but they told me the orientation was last week
Strolled into the bookstore and left with 3 books and a study guide and a $200 hole in my wallet. #%&#$*@.
Returned home to finally dismantle some forms for the concrete steps I put in last Summer. Sucked because the screw heads were all full of cement. bleh.
Gathered all various junk found after cleaning the garage over the weekend and piled it, along with my dad's sawhorses, into my truck. NOTE: a bucket full of water is heavy, a bucket full of concrete is uberheavy. ouch.
Drove off toward the county dump with said junk and upon arrival was notified that the price jumped from $25 to $35. I had $32 in my pocket. me:" take a charge?" scary lady: "nope." Off to the ATM and back again. bleh.
Dropped off said sawhorses to my dad and sat around talking about manly home-improvement projects that I can't afford over a tasty rootbeer.
Picked up an old picnic table and chairs from the folks and headed home.
Fired up CoH until the GF arrived and decided to check the forums.
That's pretty much it till right now...
er... now.
3 P.M, 4 hot baths, 1 self-massage, 11 pain pills (ibuprofin? However it's spelled) 8 re-heats of the heat-pad, and it still flipping hurts like hell.
And speaking of work, its time to get ready to go to it, bai.
All in one day.

But seriously damn...
Woke up again at 9:15 am, stayed in bed til about 9:35, so I had to dance about the house getting dressed, washed, brushed teeth etc... Had a cup of tea and left the house.
I have about a 15 minute walk to my bus stop to get a 15-20 minute long bus journey to my college, but once I got to the bus stop, there was an old guy accross the road waving at me (I didn't know him) so I went over...
Turns out his car was out of petrol, and he couldn't walk to to petrol station and back (he said he had a false leg but I didn't really believe him, but he looked fairly old so I didn't say anything, it looked like he just wanted to make an excuse rather than admit he was old), and he asked me if I'd be willing to go and fill up a petrol can for him. I said sure (this was about 10:10am and I didn't have to be in college til 11), so I go off to the station with a tenner he gave me (which, considering the area, giving a tenner to a random teenager is fairly trusting) and a petrol can.
Now i'm only 17, I don't own a car and although i've filled up my dad's car (while he was inside paying or w/e), i've never filled up one of those cans before. So obviously I hold it wrong and once the petrol starts pumping, VWUSH, i'm covered in petrol (it went everywhere). I still filled it up for the guy and went in and paid, but I stunk of petrol the whole day (i still do, but my coat's worse. Can't get rid of the damn smell). Not a lot of people sat near me on the bus, I can tell you that He gave me £2 for my troubles though, which isn't really a lot relatively, but it's still two days worth of bus fares which is cool.
My friend also took me to see some of his Graffiti work. He doesn't draw the kickass graffiti pictures, but he doesn't just write his name in a black spray can either. It's the big, 4ft tall, 10ft wide colourful tags. I've gotta admit, it was pretty good looking, although his friends are better (i've never had a problem with graffiti when it's obvious some effort has been put in rather than just "Mark woz 'ere" written in marker).
Yeah I know my day was boring but dammit, I'm bored and if I'm bored, I'm boring all you. Bite me
Didn't go to maths lesson, no one cared.
Browsed the internet looking for information about Keanu Reeves' ex-band. Even I didn't care by this point.
Came home, listened to my brother screaming abuse at my mother.
Went to remove some furniture from my (deceased, RIP) nan's flat. Brother argued with mother and didn't help carry the armchairs, so I had to do it myself. Brother walked home.
Came home for the second time and lugged armchairs in doors.
Sat at my computer and played The Offspring very loudly for a long time.
Now I'm watching About A Boy.
Pretty average day in the crappy life of moi.
Realised I had trojans.
Paniced.
Removed trojans.
Did exam.
It sucked.
Discovered the 'joys' of having Adware interrupt your games.
Basically, its score 1 for the hacker geeks, score 2 for me! (cos i removed ur evil plots,oh yes i did)
(P.S- Norton sucks ****. It finds threats then refuses to remove them. It's like mocking you.)
So exciting.
I love chemistry

now I am going to go take a shower and play some more PSO.
Came home, finally got a King of Fighters game (ordered it a week ago, delivered today), King of Fighters '99: Dream Match for Dreamcast. It's pretty cool, but kinda frustrating. Then I played RE4 some, GTA: SA some, and SSB: Melee some. Watched the first few episodes of Samurai Champloo and episode 30 of Bleach... Ate dinner, browsed the web, took a shower, went to go to sleep but stopped by the NS forums on the way.
Yes, my life is always this exciting! But hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Came home, got changed and went to karate, and I'm really starting to enjoy the sparring. I fought a black belt who (I learned later) was training for a tournament or something so the teacher was giving him advice. From my impression he needs it - I was able to pound on him fairly easily. So I launch into an attack and back off slightly, and the teacher says to him "when he stops, throw a kick in there. Your kicks are good enough and you're fast enough to pull it off". So I thought to myself "right, if he's going to kick me when I stop, I won't stop." So I didn't, I just kept up the pressure on him and pulling all the way back after each barrage. Man that was fun.
Came home again, watched Mythbusters, Pizza and John Safran vs God. Mucked around on the computer then went to bed.
Went to class

Discovered my grade dropped to a "C" in Math (what do you want, I didn't do any work last week. I was rehearsing a musical for five hours every night!)
Watched other people's drama unfold.
Laughed at the misfortune of others.
Sent flirty text messages to a friend who seems to want to add a more, uh, physical aspect to our friendship.
Not a bad day.
Trying to study for my Physics C AP (C is the hardest) 'til noon.
Taking said exam 'til 3:30. It was very very very evil.
Going home and surfing the net for an hour.
Going to C++ college class from 6-7:15.
Went home and played some CS and NS.
The AP was horrible.
An Exciting day in the life of Cpl.Davis!
*Ta da (insert applause sound effect here)
And my day consisted of pretty much nothing that unusual, b/c it was my day off.
I started my day by sleeping in, enjoying that warm, cozy feeling of waking up under my fleece blanket and remembering that you dont have to really do anything today
then I stretched my legs under the covers, fixed my pillow, gave the alarm clock the finger and went back to sleep for another hour... or two... or three
Ahh thats one of the best feelings in the world.
When I finally woke up I took a shower, ate a bagle, then I went and got a haircut,
Then I came back and went for a run,
Came home, took another shower, then went grocery shopping, Wheee! fun
Then I played with the dog, followed by going out for pizza at a local place with friends, then watched "The Darkness" on DVD with them back home.
Then I gave my boots a nice shining so they sparkle like... like... something really shiny. And now Im writing this.
Gee I hope everyone is still alive out there, I hope no one died from all the excitment.
btw
X Stickman, that graffiti wasnt on public property was it? ^^
