Comments
But I have had some problems thinking of NS while hearing the DoD sounds...
But anyway: Good work!
The base music is alright but too much of sound effects overwhelms it and make it too noisy. I know they're supposed to be fighting but it sounds like you just randomly placed lots of sound effects into the mix.
All in all a good effort. I don't get the end with all the other sfx though
I ended up using the DoD sounds because I needed certain voice coms. I actually added the DoD voices in as an afterthought, I was originally just gonna use NS sounds. After adding the DoD sounds I figured, might as well make this a fun little mp3, that's why I added the "Fire!"" AWP" "AWP" "AWP" "AWP" sound.
If I could have gotten the guy who did the marines voice to do new voice clips for me for the mp3 I would have done that and not borrowed from the other mods (hint hint marine voice guy!
The end SFX are all special sound clips I found inside DoD/CS and NS, the "I see dead people" "Now we dance" and "Don't just sit there" I found inside the NS sound folders, but I've never heard them used in game.
The background music I swiped from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (an anime).
I'll work on a 2nd mix that isn't as audio deafining

I'll give you some suggestions...
If you want to do a firefight still, supress the sound. Let the music over on top of the firefight. This way people can hear what's happening AND the music... and it's more like a spectator view of listening.
And don't repeat firing sounds so much at a time (like within a few seconds you repeat the firing sound (starting it) for about 4-5 times...
if you want to do so you might want to do it in a way so it sounds random, so they are not firing with rhythm... that's more realistic. Or if you're intenting to do it with rhythm, then uh... use some more dynamics (volume) so it soudns more interesting orsomething
By the way, the "now we dance" is really my favorite sfx in NS... because that's when the 3rd hive goes up.... MUAH HAHAHAHAHAH
For example, NS has only has about 8 Ricochet sound clips, while DoD on the other hand has about 25.
I just finished a 2nd mix and it's almost entirely NS sounds, no DoD voices, I borrowed a few weapon noises for sake of variety though. I'll upload it in the morning for you guys to listen to.
Thanks for the feedback.
