In testing at Lunixmonster since 'initial release' with player loads up to 8v8. 'Last major update' removed several node locations, making the map less of a tech-up-fest and more of a give-and-take.
Archive updated May 5 2005 to include ns_thorstation.wad ... dunno why it's asking for it, it shoulda been compiled-in. Grr. Anyway, i'll link to both an updated archive and a dl for just the wad.

The real reason was to keep the texture mem down.
I'd love to see other communities playtest it and let us know if they saw it balanced as well. But, this map is just amazing. Official status go go go.
The layout is well thought out, and the lighting is flawless. The contrast on several of the shots brings a great atmosphere to the level. I hope the sound is as good as the visual!
The third shot looks a bit plain, but looks as though you could do more without ruining the r_speeds too much.
Some simple external parts of the ship, like an attenna coming off the side of the ship or something could add a lot more. This attenna could have lights on it or something, and then dim the lights in the room and have rays of light coming in from outside.

you definitely have some nice architecture but some parts look like you had no time / no idea what to do and just connected 2 locations with a simple hallway. you should also think about movement, onos need much more space and this small doorways will be hell. its sad, you created some very nice details just to drown them in flatness in the next room <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You have any days it's being played on LM at all?
You should organize a new playtest of it on LM. I haven't played this map since several versions ago, so get to it quick!
The choice between Thor and Altair is a bit of a no-brainer, really.

this dead end coudl have a ladder to a closed door, a broken elvator or a closed door.

strange this place this hav this beautifull glass pipes but have a closed mirror place look the same has having in old days pipes but the floor doesnt have any broke pipes.

this room have average world polies 900 and are between 2 hives maybe marines could make a base here and cut the water tank hive from the gel hive.

This is also why some of the halls are "plain". I had to cut a lot of detail out of the map to get it to run.
im not calling to shape a door just a texture wise placement place a door texture at ends of that hall just it.
and fix that concrete wall palce the old hera texture in it.
and a cave infest fest could be nice in big funcwall with 20 brushes spikes
There aren't enough nodes near marine start. I think 2 nodes a little closer would be nice. I'll try and give some more advice as they come <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Nodes near marine start are bad. They are just freebies for the marine team as they are "given" nodes to work with. Aliens can never hope to cap them unless they are hopelessly dominating the marines.
Furthermore, the map only has 8 nodes, so aliens won't have an easy time finding freebie nodes either. Good node placement.
However, looking at the layout all I can see is plenty of areas with no importance to them other than to travel through them, especially around marine start.
