Some guy at some school got in trouble for posting a CS comic on his site. It turns out the girl who reported him had pictures of her in her underwear on her site, yet she didn't get in trouble.

And there I was, thinking that a school's main purpose is to educate its pupils...
I'm honestly glad most pupils think their freedom rights are significantly smaller than what seen in the constitution. It shows that their perception is intact. Keep an eye on the universities five years from now. Wait till these kids familiar with a very depressing 'is' are confronted with the 'oughts' of the western world.

Some close friends of mine got kept back for two days during the summer holiday for what they wrote some things about a classmate outside school on their band's website, which has nothing to do with the school at all ever. It's not even like the guy didn't deserve it. He is quite honestly the worst excuse for a human being I have ever encountered.
My school also used to give me crap about my long hair, until I stopped taking it from them. It's not like there's even a real rule against it, they just like being petty.

My school tried to con me out of 34 pounds because I photocopied a bunch of comics I'd made with their permission. So I shouted at the head up upper school for like 5 minutes. FIGHT THE POWER.

Lofung: Generalizations are bad. Maybe teachers are bad to you because you automatically assume they're undereducated failures? Maybe?
Nem: The purpose of American schools is to keep us dangerous kids off the streets. And maybe train us for the Army/make us scientists so we can FIGHT THE COMMIE MENACE....WITH OUR MINDS.
Fake Edit: Hahahaha I typed combine instead of commie.
More to the point, however, I think this is TOTAL BS. m sure the case will be thrown out; any judge worth his salt knows about that Bill of Rights thing, although it is a bit obscure.
That is total BS. I am very glad I don't have to put up with this crap. Even though same (read: half) of the kids in my school are fairly stupid, they never get into this kind of crap. The only things that get the attention of the administrators are fights in the school or in the nearby shopping plaza, directly adjacent to the school. The thing I'm not sure on is whether the administators are laid-back and cool or if they're just too overwhelmed to deal with widespread marijuana dealing and even consumption in the school, along with some other things, like when they were passing around some Vicks NyQuil in a Snapple can to get a high off it. Oh yea, they have detox pills too for drug tests. TBH, it's a bazaar in the cafeterias if you know who to talk to, I've even heard of crack and acid being sold. One kid punched through a window and sliced open his arm because he was stoned out of his mind and someone suggested it.
BTW, there are about 9 administrators and 3,200 students.
Public schools are indeed getting scary with some of the things they get away with. A friend of mine got an in school suspension for buying a Coke from the teacher's lounge. Sadly, I'm not making that up.

Sometimes I really hate my school and sometimes I really love it. The people here, for the most part, are knobs. You wouldnt believe the amount of **** I take for being a hillbilly type. Rich punks *Cue Hank Williams Jr.*. Moving on, i am pretty blatant about my shooting and hunting interests, schools fine with it.

Seriously I would hope forum moderators everywhere would be able to read this stuff and also think that is bad... but unfortunately I have doubts about that, they'd probably side with the school.
Personally, I hate limits on free speech. You should act mature (refraining around ladies and in polite company or in a professional setting; also not directed insults at somebody, that's uncool)
When ever I run a server, my rule for language is act mature. If you want to say racist or sexist things directed at another person I'll give you a violation. If it's offending somebody show some maturity and respect by not doing it. But you can pretty much add as much spice to you language as you want: "What the ****?! Damn, nice one man. Haha. I got pwned."
"Oh my flipping god go to waste hive now god damnit or we are going to loose the flipping game! Please for the love of ***********************************!"
"Oh ****! Oh ****! Onos! Retreat!"
That kind of stuff. You know what I mean? Not immature insults. If you want to hold a "love line" question session while we are playing a non-serious game then that's cool. If everyone is trying to play in character then respect that and play in character too and not try to cut up. Common sense right?... Maybe not.

I almost got in trouble for the same thing during high school... though it was in AP chemistry. Yeah.. I'd bought a lot of glassware for the school by the end of that year.

Moral of the story: When you yell, dont say ****.
Last week my maths teacher told me my hair looked like it had been "cut by a blind barber.....*class laughs*....with no arms....*class laughs*"
So I said "f*** you, sir!" and he laughed.
But this guy's a cool teacher, he didn't seem to mind at all.
My school also used to give me crap about my long hair, until I stopped taking it from them. It's not like there's even a real rule against it, they just like being petty.
If they can dish out, they gotta be prepared to take.
