old school fun
I just played NS for a few hours with only my keyboard, it's like being in the special olympics except nobody cares. It's strange how you can still play a decent game like this by just picking a suitable niché(e.g. gorge, dedicated welder boy). I even learned to bunnyhop semi-decently with the keyboard. Quick weapon switching and aiming at someone who is moving vertically or circle strafing you was the really hard part.
It would be really interesting to have a keyboard only weekend on some server but it would need a plugin to be enforced and it would probably be emptier than 1.04 for steam servers. Everyone's a total newbie again(well not quite, since they would still be highly opinionated on what strategies to use unlike most newbies), and I guess that most people would just not want to feel like a newbie.
p.s. I expect this to be quite the unpopular topic, like all my topics...

No, but I've played tetris on the NES via a mirror. It's not actually that hard, OK for the first hour or so you'll lose badly, but in the end it's like inverted vertical mouse aim for flight sims.
I play left handed and I'm right handed....

It didn't help that we usually weren't terribly sober when we did this

How do you push the buttons? I can't imagine it being feasible to do with the palm of your hand. If your fingers are still on the buttons, then you aren't holding the mouse, and you can't possibly control it. Unless I'm missing something completely obvious.
Also, has anyone tried playing Free Cell with just the keyboard? I randomly discovered that you don't need the mouse to play, the number keys can control everything. I only played for about 5 minutes before I got frustrated by how slow it was, though.
I don't find that so hard. It also benefits you when going back to the normal hand and you tend to get one of those "natural twitches" if you play for a long time with your more un-natural hand/
