    They're rather lousy images. I demand quality!

    And sometimes the filter just flat out doesn't work, even from a working link. I like to start a different mod, filter for NS, and then activate NS, but I have no idea if that actually fixes things consistently or just makes me feel better.

    I would like to say that sometimes the siege cannon IS bugged. I've been an alien, watched a gorge make an offensive chamber, immediately the siege cannon fires, and the gorge is killed. The unbuilt tower proceeds to weather five or six hits from the siege cannon before it is taken out by a marine spamming a few grenades. It's not a commander view thing, it is a very real bug.

    As for the minimap problems, I tweaked the minimaps and you can download them in <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=9117&st=0&' target='_blank'>THIS THREAD.</a> This isn't offically sanctioned, but I don't see the harm in it, because I didn't tweak the images in any way than changing the background colors.

    Speaking of the marine minimap, it would be really excellent if the marines using mic's in games would flash on the minimap or something like in CS. It is really hard to find people when they use their mic and say they need health and don't give a location. I wind up checking every green blip on the map to look for him and by that time he is usually dead.

    Marines are unable to fully reload all their ammo using an armory sometimes (esp with the machine gun)

    Commanders still see dead bodies on their minimap.

    Gorges building towers on certain terrain (usually grating) sometimes have the tower just start sinking into the floor.

    So, I have no working shortcuts, and even the shortcuts I make (hl.exe -ns) won't work, and even if I run hl.exe, then go to customise, then NS, it still won't work.

    As for marines reloadin' sometimes you can't fully load (it happens when you have a lmg with 235+ bullets, cause 235+25= 260, wich isn't meant to be, but if you have under 230 bullets, let's say 228, then you can end up with an extra clip that'd make 228+25 = 253).

    Siege turrets: well, in some cases, the cannon will shoot, YOU will die, but all alien buildings will stay at full health.

    Not sure if this is entirely related to NS, but here goes. Since I installed NS, a lot of the time I play *any* HL mod the WON server listings go wonky. The initial connect takes several retries, and then if I update the server listing it ignores the filter and tries to download the entire list of 26,000+ HL/CS/NS/etc servers. Rebooting/reconnecting to the internet doesn't seem to help. This seems to happen at random. This happens in all my HL mods now, but it started with NS. Is there something I can reset to get rid of the problem?

    I only got 1 to add.

    For marines, when teleport, you see the place you are getting to, THEN you see the flash. Very annoying and i can't get out some of the times

    The problem with having no-clip objects... it's significant. Let's look at it this way, if you can go through ONLY YOUR OWN TEAM structures, then people will start building turrets in a totall-blocking-off-wall fashion, which would change the play dynamic all over again, turning walls of turrets into roadblocks which teammates can get through effortlessly, but not enemies, even if the things AREN'T shooting at them.

    If the structures were no-clip to EVERYONE, then the alien turrets become drastically less effective, becuase the marines can run right through them instead of having to go over them or destroy them. And how would you shoot such an item with a non-hitscan weapon? Also, what would stop a skulk from going INSIDE the turret factory and biting it or something freaky like that?

    I do not think this will work whichever way you do it.

    To the point of quick menu options not going away, I found this to be a case of lag, like if your ping is up to 800 and you select something from the quick menu some of the menu will stay. You just reselect that part of the menu and it'll go away. But I bet you already knew that....

    Also, I guess this is a bug and a minor one at that but if your reloading your weapon and start to "build" something(at the same time) the commander spawned, you'll "build" but only every other second because it will constantly bring your weapon backup, take it down to build, bring your weapon up, take it down to build over and over. So you'll have to stop and let the reload animation finish before you can build regularly again.

    I've seen two graphical glitches of some annoyance in the game:

    1. After a weapon station has been upgraded, it appears to be at zero health. It functions and can be destroyed, but its health bar has always appeared empty to me, regardless of attempts to use, repair, or damage it. No other station shows that problem, to the best of my awareness.

    2. In some games, I can't turn my flashlight on as a human. Never had a problem with it as an alien, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to function for humans. My roomie has the same difficulty. I believe that I saw an option in the server menu for 'enable flashlights' or something of that nature, and I can confirm that flashlights were enabled on the server side.

    Both my roomie and I are using Geforce 4 4400s on Windows XP Pro, in OpenGL mode, in case the issues are unique to that video card or OS.

    As a marine, I got Hvy Armour, had a battle and tried to get replacement armour but couldnt, even after the armour was worn down to 0.
    Also as marine, flashlight turns off when walking into a new room/section.

    Two easy ones - in the on-screen hints for the turret factory, it still says that the turrets continue to function without it. And it says that skulks have to press the duck key to climb up walls.

    Everything you said about the whole "non-clip" structures is true, but still, it'd be nice to have a solution to the whole "Damn!., construction workers built a turret ON ME without noticing it...."

    Also, when I said I created a hl.exe -ns, I did do hl.exe -game ns, I just forgot to write it. So, all my ns shortcuts (even the start menu one, or ones I create myself) won't work. It ain't a big deal, but it's just irritating.

    New bug of the day:
    -As an Onos, you get stuck everywhere.
    -As an Onos, clipping problems abound.
    -As an Onos, I get stuck in the walls, and I have to suicide myself (/kill) or press F4 to continue playing. I got stuck twice in twice (only 2 times i chose an Onos).
    -Both times I got stuck, my energy meter wouldn't refill itself, wich is pretty weird, since I really can't see any link between hit box (and clipping problems) and the energy meter.

    The game says my executable is out-of-date, and then asks me to connect to the Internet to let it search for the updated file. It then jumps to the Sierra autoupdate program, which tells me everything is up-to-date. After that, Half-Life shuts down.

    As an alien, if you walk backwards and shoot, the projectile won't work. It'll simply explode right in front of you.
    I dunno about the lurks, but it does this to the fade and gorge.

    As for the blinking voice sprites on commander minimap.... yes, they DO show up. No fixing needed there.

    But i do have a bug right here though, sometimes when youre a fade or a lerk, you will fire an acid rocket or umbra or something like that and the projectile wont show up. The weapon animation doesnt play but the effects are seen in the world. I know it does because i can hurt myself with the acid and umbra affects me, it just doesnt go through with the animations or the world sprites. The alien energy bar wont show any chaneg wether you fire or not, blink will not work as a result of this bug (odd, blink shouldnt depend on the sprite) and needless to say it is incredibly hard to play with this bug.

    Also, in some cases i have noticed that when this happens a small bar will be displayed in the bottom portion of the HUD and it will represent the aliens energy(it will fill up or decrease according to attacks).

    Something odd that happened to me today, playing with the rocket crowbots ... I had mines, and I went into the command console, and overlayed on top of the main viewer was a ghostly white see-through image of my hands holding the mine, obscuring my view, and when I would make a selection the hands would make the animation of arming the mine.

    When I am a gorge spewing out the babblers, sometimes they dont appear, even though I lose the energy. If I jump up and down or launnch them from the edge of somehting they always work. OIften they will no come out if I am moving forwards. I would hazard a guess, that it it something to do with the engine detecting something where it is about to place them, then aborting the process, but AFTER I have lost the energy for it.

    I have had instances where I use my entire bar of energy and have one lonely babbler to show for it.

    I have also had, twice, an interesting experience with being commander, usually on laggy servers. What happens is that I suddenly lose my mouse pointer, although I can still use it to push buttons (like logout). If I do logout, wait for it, my view is on a 45 degree angle, and stays that way until I die. Which I try to do very quickly, coz it's hard to play the game with your head tilted like that and trying to stop myself from laughing.

    I also had to play once on a low spec pc in software mode. None of the 'wallhacks' (waypoints, alien hive sight) showed up. I had the res down at minimum.

    Indeed, babblers are bugged. 50% of the time, they won't work, and you'll still lose the energy.
    Blinking for the fades is bugged too. 50% of the time, you'll lose the energy but won't teleport. Also, if you crouch before teleporting (and keep yourself crouched) blinking has a higher chance of working.

    The on-screen hints still say that turrets continue functioning without a turret factory, and that skulks need to press duck to climb up walls.

    And I've seen people knife their own spawn points to death on non-ff servers.

    Not really a bug, but an easy start-of-game sabotage: I've twice seen someone jump into the CC, then build 3 or 4 more CCs. This uses up all the marine resource, and the CCs can't be sold. Now, sellable CCs are clearly another easy sabotage, but I'd suggest that all CCs except the one you're sitting in should be sellable. (Do you get a full refund?)

    Well, this looks like where I should have done this in the first place, but as I've already covered most of the bugs I've encountered in another post, here's the link:

    My comments near the bottom....

    Few others I've noticed since then:

    1. Cloaking not always kicking in. I've had situations when I have full level 3 cloaking, stop for well over 4 seconds, and I will stay visible (at least on my own screen). Cloaking sound won't play, player model won't go translucent. Usually, moving around a bit and/or using an ability will kick-start the cloak, but it's highly annoying to run around a corner, wait to cloak, only to have the marine walk around the corner 4 seconds later and find you twiddling your claws, wondering why he's staring at you....

    2. Commander ordering you to guard yourself. I'm not sure if this is exactly what happened, but it's the only explaination I can think of. I had one instance where, for no apperent reason, I had an icon over my head for a looong time. It was incredably annoying, as anytime I turned fast or went backwards, the icon would lag and obscure my vision with a very bright blue color. I'm guessing from the shape and color of it it was the "guard player/building" icon Commanders see when they order players to guard players/buildings, but I have no idea why I could see it.

    3. Cloaking becoming a permanent state. I've only seen this happen with level 1 cloak(that I can recall), and I can't recall the particulars involved (# of hives, # of sensor chambers, etc), but on one occasion my friend was a Gorge with level 1 cloaking (well.. I could see him, he was just translucent) and he was running around, staying in cloak. Another time I saw this was in spectator mode after a death, watching a translucent Lerk flying along a vent. No idea what causes this/why it happens, and I havn't heard anyone else say anything about it, but my friend can back me up on the time it happened to him.
    (I realize that alien "flashlight" mode makes all buildings/players translucent, but my friend noticed that on his own screen he was staying cloaked, so......)
