So My Friends And I Got Bored Right.
<div class="IPBDescription">And we made a movie.</div> <a href='http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2TG176R8HE1GE1VCAMFGLSSJKU' target='_blank'>http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2TG176R...GE1VCAMFGLSSJKU</a>
Thar be the downnload link, it's abou 40 meg. It's the first movie with some semblace of a plot we've ever made, and we're hoping to move into machinima next. (It's a Lego film if you're wondering.)
So the reason I posted here is that we're looking for constructive criticism. Did it evoke a chuckle? Was the animation ok? Should I light my camera on fire and never make a movie again ever again ever?
And no, OMG NUBLAR JOO SUXOR is not appreciated.

I'm just going to note that this is the first time I've downloaded a file at a constant 920kBps.
the punch line sucks... (though the rest of the jokes are decent enugh)
the voice acting sucks... (to be expected honestly, specialy with the mics you are ussing).
For a first try the stopanimation was REALY good (the main thing you shoudl do if you wana do it again is use a tripod for your camera so the screen dosn't bounce around like that).
All in all it was actualy realy cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
good luck on the next try <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
(oh, and with the music and name I was expecting more morocrack!)
That was actually pretty good, though.
curses to you, Cold Nite. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
A good:
- I liked the use of gamer-esque comedy. "And as they journeyed they gained levels". Roofles.
- For a first attempt, the animation was terrific.
- I enjoyed the ending. I dunno, it just made me laugh.
And the constructive criticism to help you make a better movie next time:
- Buy a tripod! It'll make the stop motion all the more better for your next film
- When the movie is 6 minutes long, you shouldn't have 3 minutes of credits. Trim them or cut them. There isn't really much need for opening credits to a 6 minute film anyway.
- Pay attention to sound levels. At a few points (especially when the dragon speaks) the volume gets louder than your recording equipment can handle and their lines are just a bunch of loud garbage coming from the speakers.
All in all though, a terrific film. Its really good considering its your first time.
Now go buy a tripod and make another. :D
But on to the video itself; I liked it, it was well done and very enjoyable.
As doomeh said, buy yourself a tripod, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor. Watch out for sound constraints. And finally work on stopmotion positioning. You want it to look as natural as possible. I say this because you did a great job but you showed potential to do even better.
Gamer humor was a good choice. Be sure to properly think through and set up your jokes in this sort of situation. Think Douglas Adams; good humor via dialogue.
