    No it was stingy here too. They gave you like spare change for your games then charged you up the *** for the ones you wanted. Maybe they just hate Texas?

    Stranglehold, huh? Tell that to the guys at Valve and their little baby called "Steam." 5 years or so and NOBODY is going to buy in retail stores; you now how we get demos and open source software online? Yeah, soon it's going to be EVERYTHING. No more retail store monopolies charging you a zillion bucks if they feel like it, or forcing developers and publishers to lose money so they can cut their prices (Ahem Walmart).

    And yes, I'm sure many of you reading this hate Steam for some reason. I don't care. People hated the VCR. They said it would kill movies.

    No, the funcoland here really sucks. All the used games are in complete crap condition. Most have marker written on the back of it indicating the previous owner or etc. And they want $10 for even the most common games. They had a copy of Super Metroid for $35... freakin 35 dollars. I mean I love Super Metroid, but that's just insane compared to what you can get it on ebay for...

    I've always hated Gamestop. Their employees are usually clueless **** who don't give a crap about games. EB at least seems to attract employees who actually play some of the games they sell.

    Yeah. I miss those times. That had to be the biggest reason we were still doing rentals instead of actually buying the games. Sad that most of the time, the games rented were in better condition than the stuff at Funcoland at one point. >.o

    One game series comes to mind: the Bond series after Goldeneye. Oh Rareware, where art thou whenest we needeth thy godly software? Attention EA: stealing Goldeneye's name just to create a totally unrelated piece of garbage is low.

    Back on topic now...

    Best Buy rules, as does Steam. Do your part: put up with Steam and kick out megacorps. Lastly, stop buying EA games, PLEASE.

    True- I bought some peripherals from them on a few occasions, and I don't plan to again. However, we're talking about just in-context here. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    But...but...Battlefield 2.....

    NO! I MUST BE STRONG!

    IF not for me, then for future generations of gamers. I WILL NOT BE TEMPTED BY YOUR GAMES, OH SATAN! BEGONE FROM THIS LAND!

    Edit: This ticks me off. IF they close the EBGames in the nearby mall, then bye bye summer job.

    this is actually quite possible, Jiffy Lube International owns Q Lube which owns minute lube, you wouldnt believe how many people come into jiffy lube and say i never will trust Minute Lube again

    Allow me to make a crude diagram to show you the problem with that theory.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> This is the console market

    --------------> This is the PC market.

    The console market is entirely retail based, and it's where the money is. Also, you overestimate the average consumer. If I tried to explain the concept of Steam to the average man-ape who comes in to get the latest copy of Halo Turismo VII for the Playcube, I would literally be forced to kill myself. It would be nice, I agree, but it's going to need more time.

    Your diagram is a little off. It's more like this:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->Console
    ->PC
