<div class="IPBDescription">How do I get to #naturalselection?</div> I've looked around for guides and tutorials, but I'm just not getting it. In all of my computer experience and training, I've never had to use IRC (*gasp!*) <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyways, I'd be thankful if someone wouldn't mind steering my nub self to the right steps to get to the channel. I have an IRC client.

Comments
Step 2: Set all your options up (nickname, etc).
Step 3: Connect to the GameSurge IRC network. To do this, in the command line, type the following:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->/server irc.gamesurge.net<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
It should then connect to GameSurge.
Step 4: join the NaturalSelection channel
In the command line, when all activity has stopped, type this:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->/join #naturalselection<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
Channel names always start with #.
I suggest that you DO NOT use MIRC. Use an alternative like <a href='http://www.hydrairc.com/' target='_blank'>HydraIRC</a> as most viruses are aimed at Mirc as it is a very popular client.
No problem <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
<b>spinviper</b>: Any adequate virus protection and a decent firewall will block these viruses/exploits.

I have been using mIRC for several years and never EVAR picked up a virus on it. All you need is a little common sense, which you <i>should</i> possess if you operate a computer anyway. *rollseyes*
<a href='http://www.ugleague.org/forums//index.php?showtopic=521' target='_blank'>mIRC stuff for new IRC users</a> should answer nearly any question you have Material Defender. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I'm using Chatzilla, a plugin for Firefox/Mozilla browsers. I've tried mIRC, but it does require registration (I believe?). Didn't care much for it either.
<i>EDIT:</i>I was wondering, why is there no tutorial in this forum to help people connect to #naturalselection ? I did the forum search, and it turned up nothing. Is it really that simple, and I just couldn't figure it out?

I have never paid a dime for mIRC, although they make it sound as if it costs to register.
I shall post the referenced link on here for all mIRC users.
Anyway to get around it?
