I saw the below survey at Shacknews today on their front page. They're considering renting game servers, and they're surveying what games shackers would be willing to dish out $ for. So of course there was a survey of numerous types of games.
Notice that amidst the list of retail games is little ol NS. Some of you may not think that's significant, but notice its the only mod there. Every other item there is a retail game. You don't see Red Orchestra or even Desert Combat on those pages.
So congrats NS.

Also maybe move this to General Discussion moderator? It's kind of news the whole community might want to know about.
Don't condem my thread to that hellhole. :(

In any case, great news!

Only because I go to OT before General.
There are alot of good on retail hl mods, as well as mods on other engines.

There are other retail mods on the list, there are no other third party mods that have not hit retail on that list though.
I think it is huge bonus points to NS that it is the only mod not affiliated with a comercial producer that people still belive deserves a server from shacknews.
Don't worry, large player communities have never ruined good games. I mean just look at Counter-St...er-I guess you're right to worry.

What were you saying about good games now? Its so disorienting when you suddently change topic.
But I'm not complaining, as from like a week ago these new folks are now more responsive, and some of them even follow orders (I had 1 guy do nothing unless I told him to as marines). A bit of patience and some voice comm breaks through to some of them.
But for those who treat NS as some sort of DM, can't do much about them. And most of them can't shoot or bite for nuts.
Yet, pubs are fun in their own way. It's a place where mass bonsai charges work, and you can actually build a TF and 6 turrets outside their hive and turn it into a resource tower =p.
I'm retreating to scrims for the old gameplay before the newbies, but I don't mind. Having THREE gameplay modes in 1 game rocks (NS strategic, NS pub, CO).
lol

Pub play is great, it allows you to fine tune your accuracy and rambo lone soldier skills without having to worry about other things like capping resource nodes etc. (Best in Co not NS pub of course).
I know i like to go onos and eat new ppl its like a religion when someone new is on my server i go onos and make them panic and run while i chase them for my dinner <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo--> ahhhhh ya good old food <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
