Anyone Knows?

<div class="IPBDescription">some stats</div> Ok.. we all know the dmg calculators. Basicly I think they are pathetic.

They only show how much attacks it takes to kill x target. I want to know how much dmg I can pump out before I get killed, and if its enought to kill the enemy first.

I am quite far with this dmg calculator, but its harder (ROF etc)

Lets start with my ROF question.

if you have a ROF of 0.80 (bite) will the FIRST bite start at 0.80 or 0.00? (I kinda have trouble finding out) Incase anyone wonders, each attack has a pattern cause its ROF, the patern for each attack starts at that value. (so according to the patern, bite starts at 0.80)
But if anyone can proof me wrong on this, (or right) be great.

second, I need to know energy values, I still can't pull it off. If anyone has a idea how to calculate these, be great. (how fast it restores and stuff)

but I can find it out, just the ROF is the one I really do not know how to check

    I think the first attack starts when you click, and has a cooldown after it, thus making the second attack come 0.80 seconds later.

    balance.txt or whatever in your ns folder has the energy stats, and infact all stats about game balance.

    I know balance.txt has it, its just I undersatnd jack about energy values. I got all else, but energy won't give. I am sure I will find out though.

    Lets just concentrate on the ROF question shall we?

    I call this actually knowing for sure.
    I for one, have been shouting a long time that intime you can do more dmg with armor2, weapons0, then armor1, weapons1.

    So many things to find out with this

    The first attack occurs the instant you run the attack command (time = 0).

    Another thing to note is that the ROF values given in Balance.txt and the NS manual are not expressed in seconds, but rather in some seemingly arbitrary unit. Judging from my measurements of the LMG's attack rate (highly precise measurements made using scripts), the conversion factor to seconds ranges from .53 to .67 for framerates higher than 50. (The amount that attack rate fluctuates based on framerate decreases as framerate increases; at lower framerates the fluctuation is very great.)

    <!--QuoteBegin-DC Darkling+Apr 11 2005, 12:25 PM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (DC Darkling @ Apr 11 2005, 12:25 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->second, I need to know energy values, I still can't pull it off.     Energy values are listed in Balance.txt, and are expressed as a fraction of the energy bar.

    For instance,<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->#define kBiteEnergyCost 0.05<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->This means that the skulk bite takes .05 or 1/20 of the energy bar.

    Edit: From Balance.txt, <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->#define kAlienEnergyRate 0.08<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->Assuming this is in fraction of the maximum energy per second, it would take 12.5 seconds for the energy bar to restore itself completely. A quick ingame measurement showed this to be correct. The energy bar, therefore, restores itself at a rate of .08 or 2/25 per second.

    Adrenaline adds 33% to this rate per level according to Balance.txt (#define kAdrenalineEnergyPercentPerLevel 0.33), and a quick ingame measurement proved this correct as well.

    ah, on that way. IC

    I always thoughed the ORF to be seconds, so I will keep it like that for now
