sounds like a file has become corrupt.

Have you tried a clean download and install?

make sure to backup your server.cfg.

also you need to provide more information.

    Are you using metamod?
    If so what version?
Are you using amxx, amx or admin mod?
    If so what version?
Are you running any other custom plugins?
Does this crash occur on normal maps or just custom ones?

    its called getting STEAMED son.

this is what happens when you have a linksys router or some such router steam does not like. this is 100% steams fault. not the client, or the server.

the only possible way to patch the problem, notice "patch" not "fix". because it can still happen. is to update your routers firmware, or in some cases drop it back a few notches.

sorry to say, but that is the only way to attempt to fix the problem. unless you go **** at valve to get off their lazy bum and attempt to fix the problem.

www.steampowered.com has it in there FAQ. Steam is not compatible with certain firmware versions of linksys routers. Check the steam website to see what versions are not compatible.

sry. I m not using linksys router. is cisco.

cisco own lynksys, hence if steam has problems with lynksys, it stands to reason some cisco hardware will also generate theese errors,

you're best off posting a help thread on www.steampowered.com

model numbers of linksys routers that have problems with steam:

    BEFSR11
    BEFSR41
    BEFSR41v2
    BEFSR41v3

these are the only known ones i know about that cause clients on your server or you to get dropped from servers. as you go down the list, you have less problems.

BEFSR11 series of routers is the worst to have, even with the patches to the firmware, there are alot of issues with it

BEFSR41 series has less problems. if you run a server, clients on your server rarely have problems, although i have had a few have steam lock up and crash for unknown reasons. Version 2 and 3 of the router are better than the first, i rarely experience the "usr message not found on client X000 svc_bad" just keep the firmware updated on the router.

i have had all 4 of these routers (lost the first two to power surges though) and only the r11 and early r41 seem to cause evil crashes.

Actually...I had to DOWNGRADE my router's firmware to get it to work and I'm too afraid to upgrade to the latest because it may break for steam again. Right now it is not broken. "BEFSR41 v.2" with firmware "1.45.7, Jul 31 2003"

And you know what they say: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

pretty much the only major change between the different firmware versions in the user interface in internet explorer.

there are a couple of bugfixes in the latest version though.

on my v2, i upgraded the firmware to the latest version and didnt have any problems.
