<div class="IPBDescription">Are you man enough?</div> Just wondering how many people owned SKS's. I have 3. A Yugo /w integral grenade launcher, an original Russian one in beautiful condition, and a composite one.

There's the Yugo with the Grenade Launcher on the left.

    I got one of those Yugo's without the grenade launcher. What species is that SKS with the beautiful furniture at the bottom?

    Edit: Im a spaz that can't read. How much did the Russian cost you and did you work that wood yourself?

    Somewhere around 250 dollars. I worked it myself, yes. I sanded it (Not too hard, didn't want to remove the russian star that was stamped in it.) and stained it with a mohagany wood stain. It's very nice.

    I'd imagine so. That thing is so god damn beautiful. I love SKS's so much. They are light, and feel so...accurate. They are pretty accurate, too. At about 100 yards, I get acceptable grouping with an old battle rifle.

    I hear with that grenade lancher Yugo of yours, if you turn on the gas shutoff valve and shoot the thing like a bolt action, accuracy goes up considerably. The bolt and carrier are pretty huge, lot of mass flyin about. Ive never had the chance to try it though.

    Its just something you can do by hand isnt it? I think theres a little lever near the gas valve assembly, just turn it to on. I think, like I said mine dosnt have the launcher.

    Yeah...I haven't really looked into it. It's kinda new. And by kinda, I mean I've had it for about 5 months, but it's still in it's thick covering of cosmoline.

    Ahg gross. Cosmo is frickin Satan. I got a big steel tub just for the garbage, dissasemble the thing, fill the tub with boiling water, add a bit of dish soap and throw it all in, works alright. When I got my Yugo, someone had fired the thing withought cleaning the Cosmo off first! It was hideous.

    No SKS here, though I have a few friends with them. Personally, I prefer my AR-15. And the brand new Glock 23 (.40) that I got last week. I have shot SKS'es though and I must say that they are good rifles for a low price. Ammo price is reasonable as well I understand.

    Yea well, my SKS is pretty much the fanciest bit of gear as im gonna get up here in Canada. And urinal cake, thier $200 bucks tops. Go to your nearest pawn shop, odds are they'll have one. Hell, when I was in FL, I went to a pawn shop and they had the most wildassed SKS ive ever seen. The furniture was beautiful, deep red, looked like cherrywood. The bolt and reciever were pitch black. Beautiful gun, apparantly it was a Soviet honour gaurd rifle.
