Well I have had some problems getting my Mic to work, not sure if it was NS HL the Mic or maybe even my keyboard but I found a fix for it, so everyone with a mic problem gather round.

if you have windows xp make sure voice_dsound is set to 1

people still complaining that they cant hear you?

voice_loopback 1

is your voice scratchy and shaky?

try typing in console +voicerecord

no dont use the binded key just type in the console +voicerecord so its continually recording

now talk in your mic is it clearer?

well for some weird reason my computer when I use a binded key shakes and is non understandable

so what does this mean?

do we have to put the console down and type +voicerecord everytime we wanna talk? nope there is an easier way!

yes through the magic that we know as aliases you to can lead a normal HL voice com life that you want to

First go to config.cfg and bind the button you want to use to "voicetoggle"

then open your autoexec.cfg file (if its not there make one) and copy this and past it
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
alias voiceon "+voicerecord;alias voicetoggle voiceoff"
alias voiceoff "-voicerecord;alias voicetoggle voiceon"
alias voicetoggle voiceon
bind x voicetoggle
<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

note the X is supposed to be chaned to the button you want to use to talk through

Now the way this alias works is you hit the button once to start recording then hit it again to stop

special thanks to peacekeeper for the help with the alias

(btw for everyone who thinks scripts are evil this is a good thing to show them that they can help you too)
