    I thought DC was CD based? In fact, I'm pretty sure of it...

    In which case, no, for the same reason your PC's CD-ROM can't read DVDs.

    Actually the Dreamcast used GD-ROMS... but I believe you can play VCDs using a program you download.

    Dreamcast use a special Audio/Data GD-Rom scheme.

    The only reason they can run CD-Roms is because a bug in the BIOS was left in and eventually found by a couple germans. This was released as the Utopia Boot Disc.


    A dreamcast cannot run DVD discs, only GD-Roms, CDs, and with a bit of modifying, CD-RWs.
