Or, Speeding Bittorent up.
I read something about Bittorrent download speeds going blazingly fast if I utilize the forbidden magicks known as "port forwarding". What's all this about? Have I gone mad? Is it easy? How do I do it?

ALL THESE AND MORE ANSWERED NEXT ISSUE!

Apologies if this has already been posted. To make this thread worthwile, I'll go Photoshop a comic book cover or something. It'll be cool. And now, because my spastic friend insists, .

Routers by default strangle your ports so you don't get nasty virusii (I'm split between viruses and viruii). If you want, you can open 'em up with port forwarding, specifically the ones bittorrent uses. That makes things go much faster.

Basically your concern is to have the proper ports forwarding, enabling UPNP on the router, then setting your torrent program to utilize UPNP enabled forwarding set to Fast.

    Seconded.

    AND,

What kind of router do you use?

What bittorrent proggy do you use? (I HIGHLY reccommend Azureus because of it's stability, ease of use, and high level of configurability.)
