<div class="IPBDescription">what do you look for when renting them?</div> OK I own a games service provider, and I'd like to get some insight into what the NS comunity looks for when renting a game server.

So go wild but please be realistic .... i.e. don't post things like
"I'd like 12 months free when I pay for 1 month !!!!!"

any feedback is appreciated.

    uptime
    ability to add maps
    no overloaded server
    reasonable prices
    no lag
    quick response to requests
    minimum downtime
    ability to add amxx / metamods

    same thing that anyone looks for...

    Ive rented servers for over 2 years now. Pings are relative anything below 80 is good. Any server co. near a hub/backbone is fine.

    The #1 issue for me is SUPPORT. Ive been with <a href='http://www.bfgservers.com' target='_blank'>http://www.bfgservers.com</a> for a long time. Last year on Easter Sunday my server crashed. I sent support an email and 1 hour later it was back up.

    A 26 slot server with good ping?....$120.00.
    Admins who are actually fair?.........Reserved slots.
    Good support?..............................PRICELESS!

    Many people above have mentioned good things, but one thing I hate is:

    OVERLOADED servers. Period.

    So don't do this, and have the above mentioned things, and you're laughing.

    This is a very good point...if people were just honest, things would be much better. I hate it when you are trying to resolve some lag issues or something, and the hosting company is just not straightforward. I would rather hear, "Yes, we are having trouble with this and hope to get it fixed soon" rather than "We don't know what the problem is, must be something on your end" (and you use that excuse while you fix the problem...)

    Honesty goes a long way in building a good relationship with your customers. If they are satisfied, they will naturally promote your server host (FOR FREE).
