Cargo, On Tanith.

<div class="IPBDescription">Way too easy for marines!</div> Let's talk about Cargo on the map ns_Tanith.

I think it is unbalanced, as:
-it is very easy to hold as marines.
-very good siege spot, i'd argue the easiest siege spot besides old ns_lost "glassroom".
-hard to take back as aliens if marines has come in.



But, what are your opinions on Cargo area specefic?

    In b5, tanith was perhaps the best balanced map around. In 3.0 final it's definately alien biased. You picked a very strange time to comment on it having marine biased parts...

    Cargo is the center of the map, EVERYTHING connects to cargo. SO both teams will want to take and hold it, but I do agree that cargo on Tanith has a marine bias as it's easy for them to take, hold and defend. Aliens have to fight tooth and claw just to keep it, and once it's fallen to marine hands, nothign short of an onos, two fades, two lerks, a gorge and the rest of the team as skulks to get it back from a decent marine team. Other than that, tanith is harder to play for marines as they can get locked in MS easily.

    well cargo is rather huge giving marines a lot of distance from the aliens so it is rather easy for marines to maintain control of cargo once they got it. even more advanced lifeforms would have trouble taking it once marines have got it cos of the huge amount of space

    Cargo isn't brutally marine biased. It is nasty for skulks but it is really nice for fades and lerks, has a nice little bile pad for gorges and lots of architexture that really supports lame. Plus if aliens do thier job right it is and increadibly difficult room to access in the first place.

    If it comes down to skulks only trying to force the marines out of cargo, as far as I'm concerned the aliens have already failed to do thier part towards winning the map.

    I have to say, I've never really noticed. Aliens can easily bile it, and this is difficult and costly for marines to stop. Not to mention that, even if marines get cargo, it's still possible for aliens to move into fusion, etc, and around the entire area.

    I'm not saying it's particularly easy for aliens, but I wouldn't call it unbalanced. Moving some of the blocks around might help make it a little more even, but I don't really see a major problem.

    erm - no - one of the most classic battle areas in NS - just remember - to hold it, rines have to first take it and get a pg / tf down. If rines manage this, then aliens deserve to lose the hive

    rines dont deserve a hive just because they have a pg+tf there...

    in addition: cargo is not marine biased. if theres 3 marines in there and you try to rush them with 1 skulk at a time then yeah it can be a bit hard. however think of the whole picture: its very hard for marines to even get to cargo if the aliens are there.

    Which happens 1/3 of the time.

    hard to take back cargo from marines? sure, maybe in public. Once you try taking it back in a clanmatch, you can't say the same. Have a lerk fill half the room with spore, then rush in from 2-3 doors with one or more skulks each... And unless they're getting a quick pg, you will have a fade to rape them with. If they ARE getting a quick pg, you just need to storm them with skulks (they have bad upg's)

    I could agree with saying Fusion is a tad marine friendly. Cargo may be wide and open, but its a Lerking/Fading ground, has 3 dozen easily defendable incoming routes and the acidic approach to retake it with Skulks.

    If you want bad places on Tanith, think West Access Corridor or Research Labs. Urrrgh!
