Balance Issues?

After updating our server with NS 3.0 release, we met a strange balance problem. Mariners win 1 of 20-30 games, and about 30-40% of all games end up with onoses during first 4-5 minutes of game, thats because aliens make many frags. Currently we think that there is a problem with aliens movement speed, they move way too fast even without celerity. Probably there are some incorrect server settings.

Did anyone have this problem? Do you know what might affect the game balance in such way? Maybe server settings which are not overwritten by 3.0 patch? Let me know, please.

    Same thing happened for the release of 1.0 and 2.0.

    Skulk speed was *not* changed from b5 to b6.

    To the best of my knowledge, there is no cvar that controls skulk speed.

    Yes, I know that skulk speed was not changed. And I also know that mariners must adopt from version to version. (I have 2+ years experience as a commander.) But I never saw such balance displacement before. And we also tested skulk speed, it is above normal. Some time ago we had a different problem with aliens, when maxspeed was set to too low value, and there was no speed bonus from celerity. Thats why I ask, maybe someone knows how to change the things.

    Nope. There is no discrepancy. The balance is intended to be that way... it just seems incredibly overpowered as everyone is used to the 2.0x version, where the Marines can slack off and rambo, without paying the price.

    3.0x, use TEAMWORK to win. It throws back to the 1.0x days, where it was a neccessity. A shotgun is no longer invincibility. If you have a teammate there, they'll get the skulk before it gets you. If you don't.... you meet the same fate as nearly every other rambo out there.
    Because you're a Marine. Not Rambo.

    Size? Its a LAN server, 20 players max.

    Are you running any server-side plugins or mods? I emphasize this question towards ones made before 3.0's release, which may not have been updated for compatibility.
