I'm just curious to know which maps were included in the release, i autodownloaded some crappy custom maps that i just want to delete since i'll never play them again. is there a list of the most recently official maps? thanks!
I think you'll get your results fastest by checking your maps directory against the 'Map contributors' area on our <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns/view?action=team' target='_blank'>Team Page</a>.

I know for some reason, they dont like updating origin. Its been mentioned numerous times in the Bug report forums, all the people reporting the vent stuck issues, and they mods just say "we have no plans on updating Origin in the near future".
We removed Mineshaft not because it had some minor issues, like pretty much any map in existance. It had a number of glaring issues which might be tolerable for one version, but if you can not assume it'll be fixed any time soon, you just have to ask yourself whether it's still worth it. Agora had a number of issues that could not be fixed in time for 3.0's release, but will hopefully make a return later.
So why do we not also take steps regarding origin? Because, all said and done, those issues are tolerable. Doesn't mean we don't want to see them fixed, but their prolonged existence didn't seem to justify drastic means to us.

The upper railing in Vent hive is a nasty nasty stuck spot, but I personally don't think it's anywhere near bad enough to consider pulling the map.

I'm not exactly sure to be honest, but I think it's because the map really needed to be updated and the author of the map is gone. Which then makes me think, why haven't caged and origin been removed yet for the same reasons? Caged and Origin both have some real nasty chokepoints.

3.1 will have an updated Caged if everything goes well.

a stuck point that results in the loss of 50 res is not tolerable. origin has more of such points than many other maps combined.
As to rebirth, no clue. I still run it on my 3.01 server.

Heh, at first I thought you were saying that there was actually a stuck point that took away 50 res.
But then I realized you were talking about fades.
Kind of a shame... Mineshaft wasn't much for playability in my experience, but it looked really nice in spots.
If Caged goes, I go. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Not actually, but I do like that map a lot.
