[req] Avp2 Marine Hands

I was wondering if anyone could convert the AvP2 hands for the AvP2 pack that was release a long time ago. Also could you include the black hands. This would make the AvP2 pack go well with the player models. If anyone did converted it could you provide the link as well. I tried searching for this and ended up with nothing.

Something along the lines like this:

    Hey there, I notice you're using the crappy version of my pack.

    Do yourself a favour and download the most recent version. There's lots of pretty changes, differently coloured aliens (so you can have a black drone instead of the brown one!) and all sorts of neat little bugfixes!

    Durandal, interesting skin job work. Wonder if anyone will fix the anims tho.

    Is this the marine hands?? It looks similar to it. It's not bad but thanks.

    you cant simply re·texture the defaults to look like those AvP² arms because the NS arms have an armor pad modeled on to them...

    those hands are from a ns model, don't remember which one.

    yeah, you only see those pads in the smartgun idle/attack, the shotgun reload, the knife idle/attack, the welder "attack," etc. well, now that i think about it, the only time you really <i>dont</i> see those pads with the AvP² pack is when youre using the pistol or lmg...

    Now to mention it, yes I did notice the weird arm pads with the texture. Don't get me wrong. I seen others converted the alien and predator hands, why not do it for the marine hands. I tried to convert this myself, but I had a bunch of problems with it. As for the arms, there could be some improvements to the model.     BTW if you want my opinion, why not ask a modeller for permission to reskin one of the bajillion gloved hands for CS/TS/etc and use that with the weapons? No?

    i already said that i didn't made new hands. i only give him textures. but you everytime try to be the big player. thats really horrible

    @necrosis: i think those (illicit?) CS:CZ hands would look great, with or without a reskin. on their own, they would easily fit with the many variations of daphisto's avp marines. the problem is that they're uber·poly models...which probably wouldn't be a issue until you got to the smartgun, which is already like 3100 polies on the default NS arms. you can (indirectly) see a small pic of them <a href='http://www.nsarmslab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3481' target='_blank'>here</a>...

    I think thats an awful lot of polies for something so ephemeral.

    I know <b>most</b> of the CS/TS glove hands look like they're cut from wood, but there's bound to be some happy medium between uberpoly and and something carved by a man with a pathological fear of curves.

    Please dont derail the thread folks, its not going to make anyone any better.

    It was a nice reskin, but I suggest a model hack as a final solution. I'm pretty sure SOMEONE made NS default hands which matched the more standard bone animation of CS/TS. It should an easy matter for milkshape and hackjobbing.

    Doesn't even have to be pretty, tbh. There's not much animation in the AvP models, and what animation there is needs seriously cleaned up to match modern standards... so a straight model swap isnt really going to look any worse.

    Necrosis is right let’s get back on topic. Anyway I think that idea is a great alternative but there’s one problem. Since the CS/CZ and TS hands are all white hands what about the black marine hands. It wouldn’t be right because when you’re the black marine, you would have white hands. It could be reskin but it’s something to consider. But with the AvP2 hands it will ensure the models authenticity. It’s not like I’m requesting the AvP2 rocket launcher to be converted to the grenade launcher’s model o_O. It’s just a hand conversion.
