My observations, if you care.
Well, a lot of people have been complaining about 3.0 sometimes, a lot of people have been praising it. Really mass confusion I suppose, whatever. Some say that the shotgun is underpowered (I still love you swiftspear) or sensory is overpowered.

3.0, from my eyes, is fine. But thats probably because I've only seen it out for a couple days, and if anyones ever played on a server with me, you'll know I'm blind (as well as far too loud and obnoxious, but thats another story). Hell, I went an entire game (a lengthy one at that) without noticing that whole massive tower thing the RT sits in at the Data Core hive on ns_hera. I didnt notice that whole massive generator .. pole thingy in Waste Handling on ns_tanith until I litterly ran into it. So my observations may, or may not, be true.
3.0 is changing the way marines play, there is no doubt about it. The new sensory changes force marines to move in groups and rely on heavy support from their commander to scan the next room as they claw their way through the map, inch by inch. With the new sensory changes, the map is divided into territory. Theres alien territory, where you see nothing and the aliens always know where you are, and there is marine territory, the small phase gate bases by RTs in areas on maps deemed "important."
This is a huge change from older versions. Marines used to be able to run freely and still have a chance at survival, however its different now. You need to stick together, or you'll die once you enter that web of chambers. Its honostly that simple. Why are people bitching about it? I've got no clue.
This is all, of course, dependent on if sensory is the first chamber dropped. Now please, dont tell me sensory is the only chamber ever dropped and its always like this, because I'm fine if it is. But the fact of the matter is that the sensory just recieved massively new, needed and nifty buffs. Its a brand new toy that everyone wants to play with. Give it a month. I've already seen some servers that have gone defense first, and the play style is different. Sensory doesnt dominate, no chamber does as it stands now. Movement is slightly underpowered and casted into the shadows at the moment but.. thats another story.
The new siege changes are having an effect as well. Aliens now actually have a chance to save an under siege hive because they arent being blasted for six million damage left and right before they can leave the hive. Siege .. "blockaids" outside the hive if you will, no longer are unstoppable as they were before. They were an overly tough, tough nut to crack. Its changed. People have noticed. The sieges themselves are going to take down the hive just as fast, nothing's changed since then, but you've got aliens comming at you now. In my opinion, this is a great change. This is how it should be.
Overall, I'm loving 3.0. All the new changes are great. You've got my permission to start whining when we hit April, but dont expect it to hit my ears -- I'll be too busy gaming on the best damn game to date.
