    If your sieging down the hive its probably because you are attempting not to go in for some reason... If that reason is too much traffic or lame, those gorges are going to be fine weather you like them healing or not. The possible exception is if you can sneak GL shots on the hive, since heal gorges really don't like those...

    You can always use the sieges for wiping out everything but the hive, plus occupying two players. After everything else in the room is cleared, send in marines.

    I would like to say how retarded this comment is...

    2 gorgies on nonstop heal will heal 128 damage per second.

    5 sieges do 330 damage each and fire once every four seconds.

    Do the math:

    1650 damage/4 seconds (for each volley) is 412.5 damage per second.

    Hell, 4 sieges? That's 330 damage per second.

    The usual 3 sieges? 247.5.

    Now, you'll need more sieges, I suggest making the siege damage to around 370 if cost persists. But the fact is: Sieges are still a viable strategy in taking down a hive spot.

    Now, let me tell you a hint: If they have MCs, it'll probably be targeted first. If they have adren, then can only heal so long before they finally run out. And even then, 2 gorges healing the hive? That means there are 2 less skulks or lerks or fades out in the field, giving marines additional manpower to defend their siege spot.
