More info on the game

I liked Empire Earth, sure there were a few things off with the game, but the idea was solid. I hope to God they fix some of the more annoying features from the first one (the rather boring rock-paper-scissor combat, for instance).

The screenshots look pretty nice, I'll have to try it sometime. Hopefully they made it so it doesnt suck like the first one did.

My brother has been waiting for this for a long time. I liked the first part except for the 'overpowered' nukes (AA Units wouldn't shoot at planes)

I was raped over LAN so many times because of this.

I wouldn't say the first one sucked....the graphics looked pretty good (until you zoomed in <_<), and the sp campaigns were interesting to say the least (often more like mini-rpgs than rts games). There were plenty of diverse units, the only problem was that most of them were simply unnecessary. If combat is improved to allow for more varied battles, rather than archers hit spearmen hit clubmen hit archers, then I'd definitely look into buying it.

[edit]And I hope nukes get made more powerful, but less common. I mean, nukes in EE were just one-hit building killers (or an incredibly unnecessary way to take out an army/a couple of ships).

I lost track easily of a lot of my units, so it wasn't uncommon for me to send Elephants into battle during WWII
Rock-paper-scissors combat doesn't suck, just look at Age Of Mythology

    Cool, I enjoyed the original.

    Fact of the day:

Flayra made the save game feature of the original.

Yeah, but AoM has two separate rock-paper-scissor circles, one involving just normal units and the normal unit -> hero -> monster -> normal circle. So it's a bit more complex.

It's a bit disappointing they basically made RON 2 rather then EE2, diehard fans of EE and its format will be crushed.

Also a ton of little bugs that need to be worked out. Personally I think EDMW is better then this, shame they didn't advertise it more. No one knew about it, no one bought it, and then they just cut the line and left the fledging community to rot after 2-3 updates.

I'll still buy the damn thing because I have high hopes they’ll listen to the huge amounts of criticism their getting over this demo. Count on the release date getting pushed back.

Edit: What am I thinking! This is an RTS game, heh, they won't change a damn thing, and release it early! They’ll take what they can get, abandon the community and never speak of it again. Oh well...I wish every game was made by the NS team, guess I'm too pampered from playing a game where the devs listen to and respect the community.
