A game for learning trivial facts and comparing your knowledge (and posting response time, I suppose) against your cool NS-forumites.

Scoring and playing:
<!--QuoteBegin-Question Point Value+--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Question Point Value)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Question 1: 1 point

Question 7: 15 points
Question 8: 20 points
Question 9: 25 points
Question 10: 50 points<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

[Subject to change if this is too easy:]
Questions 1-9 will be 4 choice multiple choice (maybe more if that's too easy).
Question 10 will be ‘fill-in-the-blank’ with a person, place, time or event.

Due to simplicity and to prevent getting side-tracked, I’ll post the questions.

I will keep track of scores (I’m not sure if I’ll decide to put them in the first post or not; but the leader and the last person to answer Question 10 correctly get listed). And an answer key will be posted once all questions are answered.

Rules (subject to change):
1. Only one post, with no edits, will be counted towards your score per game. So make sure you’ve got your chosen answers the first time (less cheating, and easier correction <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->); and that you don’t edit them for awhile until I get around to tallying them. Once all the questions are answered correctly (I wont come in post the correct ones until I see a correct answer for each question (not necessarily all in one response)) I'll post answers and the winner of the round; along with updating the leader (who, coincidently enough, will be the the winner of the first round).

2. Please refrain from using Google or other search engines; perhaps it’s a bit futile to request that, but I’d like people to try. They make it too easy (although some questions may still not work with google (...hopefully).

3. Feel free to converse on questions of past games, but not on present games - because you'll give away answers, which isn't to your benefit anyway.

4. First one to correctly answer a question gets the points for that question; but answering one in a sequence wrongly will void the ones below it. That is:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->
Answer Key:    Sample Answers:
1. A                 1. A
2. B                 2. B
3. C                 3. B
4. D                 4. D
<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

Question 4-9 would not count.

[and this is also the way of answering I'd like people to use - but feel free to throw in notes after your answer (like: "maybe", "I think"...you might get around to psyching people out <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)]

5. If you leave an answer blank you wont suffer from rule 4 (if you left 3 blank, you’d get points for 4), with a maximum of 2 dropped answers (so you must answer 7 of 1-9).

6 (sort of like 3). If you post for Question 10, be sure to leave 2 (TWO) or more examples of the category of questions you want the next set to be on in the case that it’s correct. Your requests should be from different categories…or just throw in Potpourri for everything.

7. If you post a correct answer to Question 10, but someone has more correct answers than you - their category wishes will be chosen.

8. If you can find a dispute with an answer you can obtain double points by an acceptable example of the correct data (along with the points for any questions affected by rule 4).

9. Point ties go to whoever answered the most advanced quesstion.

10. (one that might need changing) The first to post has their answers counted first; subsequent posters will not gain points for correctly answered questions (although it's still to your benefit to answer all of them; in case this changes, and in case the person(s) in front of you were wrong).

11. Once the points are tallied for a game new answers will not be accepted.

I'll try to get a new one out every day or so, if it's popular. Otherwise it gets to sink into the abyss of the forum. Maybe start a geocites or something site giving point totals...I don't know. I'll see how it runs and see if it needs changes.

Feel free to give suggestions (especially on rule 10). Current game questions will exist in a new post and in this post, for ease of use (you know, if it gets to more than 1 game).
