<div class="IPBDescription">MAKE IT STOP</div> Yeah, i still have no net connection, which is balls.

Originally it was set to be transferred on Friday just gone along with the phone line, well, the phone line never got installed until Monday, and after hours of talking with BT (And them admitting their error) they CANCELLED our DSL and offered no assitance getting it back up and running again, telling us to talk to sales and make another order.

Which we have done. We've been assured by some bint that we will have shiney new 1mbit ADSL by this coming wednesday, but still, that's too. flipping. long.

Currently i'm sat in my better half's bedroom on her computer, i've got access for the next hour and ten minutes or so, then i've no idea until, at the latest, wednesday.

Also, sorry to people in WoW, i'm level 23... still, and won't get a chance to play until then. Bleh.

    Ooooh, you're with BT. I sympathise. While the service works great for me, I've always found their support to be...lacking.

    Well back when we first got ADSL, the whole home ADSL thing was pretty new, and BT charged as much as anyone else and offered the same service, so no real downfall there, but now, the only reason we're "staying" with BT was so we could transfer the connection and subscription without the 5-7 day activation period that any other ISP would have had to have taken. But BT being BT they shafted it all and we're waiting that long anyway. But still we have no contractual obligation to stay with BT, so most likely will be changing ISPs shortly.

    I don't blame you. I'm thinking of switching myself, but the hassle is what puts me off every time. Not to mention I don't know which ISP I'd plump for. Most of the players seem to offer limits (bandwidth per month), aren't that much faster/cheaper than BT offers, or are unreliable. Bleh.

    If you like in the UK, Blueyonder broadband from Telewest is what you need. Although their TV services are completely rubbish. We had to cancel after they refused to continue airing any of the Nickelodeon channels, just out of the blue.

    Unfortunately, BY requires you have Telewest, and Telewest isn't available to us, which sucks, so that's a no go.

    esuna mate, you should have asked me. If it's an already DSL activated line, we (for example) would just be waiting for the transfer BY BT on the RAS. You'd probably be down about 2 days. (Maximum of 5)

    EDIT : Fair or not, we kick the c**p out of Telewest, and I'd say that even if I was fired tomorrow.

    <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Yes, it is genuine. But there's catches, such as usage caps. And they've been rather 'shifty' about the implementation. Look at this way. They haven't radically upgraded the capacity, yet they'll double the amount of bandwidth per user. Contention is not your friend, folks. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    You know what? EXACTLY the same thing happened to me. Only they took 3 months to reconnect us. Fortunately due to their incompetance, they had also neglected to charge us for the entire time since the start of our subscription, amounting to nearly a year. We informed them that we would consider this adaquate compensation for cutting off our broadband for three months, and refusing to do anything about it. They didn't respond, but they still haven't charged us for that year either <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
