So I want to know what is new to this game and how to play it. Not sure how current it is but it should get you started.

As someone who's been here since before the initial release, I recommend this:
<ul><li>NS is probably the most teamplay oriented game out there. Your actions throughout the game WILL affect your team and vice-versa.</li><li>If you aren't sure what you're doing, ask! You'll probably get some grief from a few but most people will give good advice if you're willing to listen.</li><li>Marines - Listen to your commander and whenever possible, go to your waypoint. Do not stand around begging for better equipment. A good commander will offer goods when it's optimal.</li><li>Aliens - While your resources are your own, how you use them will directly affect the team and possible the outcome of the game.</li><li>Always remember that even when people on your team are screaming at each other, you're having fun <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--></li></ul>
