And also, spaghetti nearly strangled my cat. I was making spaghetti once. I tossed a strand against the wall. It stuck to the wall. Then it fell off right as my cat was walking by. It wrapped around her neck and she went bolting out of the room.

If that's so, why not just use some initiative and create something traditionally liked by your family? Especially if your mom is just going to be in pain going to KFC every night, also a very unbalanced diet might I add.

For example, the night when no one in my house can be arsed to cook is Corned Beef Hash <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think you should offer to make one big meal a week to show to your mother that it's not you who's lazy. You'll only make it, however, if you're told in advance what they want, and if they do the washing up or help you prepare.

There's no such thing as a good free lunch. If they can't be buggered to lend a hand, screw them.

Er, I think we do need a curry recipe thread actually. I like shoving a load of stuff with some chicken in a pan and adding all sorts of condaments, followed by some kind of sauce. I love experimenting with that kinda thing for some reason, and it rarely tastes bad. Lea and Perrins is good in curry for some inexplicable reason.

Well, the only thing I can cook is instant noodles and egg, so meh. I can also cook fried rice but it usually doesn't taste very good....

My dad cooks dead awesome curry though. Unfortunately, he is also a very, very busy man.

EDIT : Oh, and I can cook some dead awesome corned beef if I have to. Yes it tastes good in a can, but why not make it taste BETTER?!

Just some corned beef, some taters, some onions and some soy sauce...mmm corned beef....

I can cook a lot of things; pasta, pork chops, whatever. But I don't. I don't really care to sit there and carefully cook for an hour when I could be playing NS... or... something else. I'd rather just pop a DiGiornos into the oven or make a PB&J. Before you call me a lazy idiot, here's my ideal day (food-wise):

Breakfast: whole wheat waffles w/ REAL maple syrup (not that processed store stuff), a glass of OJ w/ tons of pulp

Lunch: turkey w/ lettuce, tomato & mayo on a kaiser roll w/ water or a Dr. Pepper

Dinner: good question, there's too many choices

I can make everything there, and a lot more for dinner. I just choose not to, so I hope your not TOO disgusted. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> Oh yea, and I don't cook for people unless they ask me to or I'm trying to get a girl.

    You could do this.

Cook the meal a day before, then nuke it when you want to eat it.

And I must say, I enjoy cooking. I've cooked for my girl a few times, family, and myself. Its usually nothing spectacular, but its always good!

Plus, if you do it right, its cheaper than fast food, and much more healthier. Sigh...I've had to start to watch my health now...I've realized I am not a kid anymore...

There are many things that are not that hard to cook.

    -Chilli
    -Spaghetti
    -Mac and Cheese
    -Rice
    -Soup/Stew

I can cook any of those things...if my parents are home and let me use the stove. Why can't I use the stove you ask? Let's just say that there was an incident one time...
